Would anyone know where I can get a full service tomorrow last minute. I'm driving back to Germany Tuesday so I would like to have the car serviced before I do the drive.
I would prefer to pick somewhere that wont just throw standard oil in and I get something that matches the car (of course at a premium). Modified golf r.

I would wait till going back to Germany. The only places open would be fast fit type places.

I will do this if nowhere decent is open. Most likely this will happen but I would prefer to get it sorted so I can enjoy the drive back more.

If you can get an oil extractor then do a quick oil change yourself tomorrow, if not drive it back and wait.

What mods are you running by the way (off topic)

https://www.mechanic24hr.ie is based in Finglas. I believe it's owned by a taxi company - I think they service the taxis during the night?
    Car mechanics open 24 hours!
Yes, we’re open when all other garages are closed. No need to take time off work to bring your car to a mechanic. You can call into us any time it suits you. We even collect, repair and return your vehicle by next morning!!

    Obviously, phone before you go!

You'll need a sump plug, sump plug on the R isn't designed to be re-used ideally, i'd also be bringing my own oil to place like that and shadowing the person working on the car :D

It’s a recipe for disaster tbh.

I dont think I'd have my modded Golf R serviced anywhere other than somewhere that comes recommended or that I'd have previous experience with.

Weekend servicing isn't really a thing in Ireland and most workshops are Monday to Friday with the odd one doing a Saturday morning.

Anyone establishment working a bank holiday Sunday willing to take in a car like this for a full service with no pre-booking probably isn't the best place for it. The Irish trade doesn't cater for this very well so it's likely anyone that could take it will probably make a Haymes of it.

Agree with the above, recipe for disaster and they have a single use plastic sump plug. Who has those on the shelf except for main dealers and specialist outfits. If it's running good, what's another 1500kms?

This. Besides they are very easy on oil in the old 2.0 tfsi id be hesitant to undertake a road trip if I knew the oil was near end of life.

Not a chance of a garage being open on Sunday anyway. Never seen one (apart from nct test centre :))

Not just before Bank Holiday Monday, though.

I wouldn't go for it. On mk7 petrols the rubber insulation on the coils can be damaged on removal due to crappy design. If that happens on a Sunday good luck getting a replacement!
