2009 Audi A4 2.0 D when car is driven first thing in the morning it misfires going up through the gears, it’s fine when being driven but jitters/ shakes when it’s idling, any idea what’s causing this?

Dual mass flywheel on the way out I’d imagine?

What would the cost be to get that done? Is it ok to drive until it’s fixed?

Now that you say it, I bought diesel in a place that it was cheap for the past couple weeks, maybe it blocked the injector?

I'd be leaning towards flywheel too.

But there are no issues with gear change?

Clutch can be fine and flywheel gone .

You would normally do both together.
Costs from 900 upwards fitted on an a4.

What milage have you up on it .
Mine was replaced at 185k miles and wasn't bad

The way you describe this is just ridiculous that some people are saying it's the dual mass flywheel. First things to take to a garage if you're doing it yourself change the fuel filter would be my first port of call plus maybe some injector cleaner
