I'm currently on the look out for a used car approx 2012 diesel with decent mileage and a budget of 6000. I'm coming across a lot of fluence's and they are reasonable value.
Anyone any experience with these, are they troublesome? This is the one I'm going to see https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/12-reno-fluence-tom-tom-nav/23209847.
I've been looking at avensis/mondeo too but fluence seems to be a bit cheaper.

Fluence is quite a reliable car. It is in the Corolla/Focus category though and not as big as an Avensis/Mondeo.

    How about something like this?

High spec Focus. Mileage is a little highish but looks nice.

I have a 2011 version of that model, from new. It has over 200km on the clock and never let me down. The only expensive work I’ve had done is the timing belt and the disk brakes. The rear shocks are now shot, so will be getting them done in the next couple of weeks.
I would have no hesitation in recommending it - if there were a new model available I’d be buying it.

There is, it's called the Megane Grand Coupe.

Thanks very much for the response, seems to be reliable car, and prices are very reasonable.

Is this the PSA 1.6 engines, I heard there are serious turbo failure issues with those.

Absolutely, unbelievable value, new and second hand. Only complaint I'd have is that the engine is a small bit noisy. But, then again, I was coming from a petrol Nissan Primara.
