Seems to be huge momentum with labour, very interesting night ahead. Rumours that boris's seat is in jeopardy, the lib dems vote has collapsed with tactical votes going to labour in his constituency.

I'd love to think people are turning out in their masses to punish the 2 parties who have not worked for 1000+ days, but very unlikely.

Great to see a high turn out, people are getting engaged.

I'd be surprised if there isn't a backlash, to some degree, it mightnt transfer directly into seats but could mean that there will be a few more dogfight battles next time around.

I think that high turnout in Foyle will see Eastwood home comfortably. Bookies are giving 1/3 now.

Looks like Finucane in North Belfast, talk of 80% turnout in Ardoyne. Even jamie Bryson sounding defeated. Naomi Long pushing hard in east Belfast too.

Is there an NI exit poll?

Haven't seen results, but BBC NI are talking about them.

No exit poll carried out in the North apparently.

The DUP cannot possibly hope to impact brexit with this poll - its done

Surely Jamie will respect the vote of the British electorate. The people have spoken.

NI now needs to show that if Scotland gets an Indy ref, it requires a UI one.

Strong remain result required, whosoever achieves it.

    Absolutely - 1000%

Also how will the DUP do in the next Stormont election - assuming there is one - they have to take a walloping

Votes lent all over the shop. But there will be a realisation now that the DUP strategy was a disaster waiting to backfire. They have delivered the separation they fear most.

TBH in a year after Brexit that is going to be the least of their problems as it is an abstract one. The physical real one will be starting to kick in.

If the exit poll is borne out does it raise the spectre of a no deal Brexit?

Possibly, though it would also give him far more wriggle room than May. Depends on what his objective is.

Will the counting in the north go on through the night?

Any good feeds to check in on the counts.
The British election is pretty much a done deal, but a few seats in NI are in play.

Paddy Power has long had Finucane as the (extremely narrow) favourite there.
Was 1.91 earlier yesterday (more or less evens), 1.73 was still a bit of a key shift before counting started 18hrs, and again PP dropped to 1.67 at 22hrs.

Other close areas have been a bit haphazard, too early to get any real ideas, but someone said turnout was very high like across the water even in poor weather.

No Sammy, that's not how it works at all
Sammy Wilson says the DUP’s influence hasn’t totally gone over Brexit. Accepts they no longer have the crucial votes but says there will still be “lots of opportunities” when Boris Johnson has difficulties over Brexit within his own party

Miriam O'Callaghan giving SAmmmy wilson a torrid time on rte coverage.
No Sammy, Brexit is not good for NI or the Union and yes the DUP have lost all their influence in Westminster.

Kate Hoey feeling positive about northern Ireland and the WA. i
Dear oh dear. The British people have given Boris permission to shaft the DUP and Kate, a LABOUR MP thinks there is a positive.

    So far:

SF favourite to take North Belfast.
Alliance vote up a lot as well.
Will it be enough to take East Belfast and North Down though?
