Foster coming out with the 'pan-nationalist front' to explain the North Belfast loss. I'd expect that language from Jamie Bryson rather than someone with the goal of being NI's First Minister.

DUP making an absolute show of themselves.

    Pathetic shower.

Like the sheer audacity of it when the UUP did exactly the same for Dodds.

Reading Chris Hazzard is in real battle in South Down, surprising

    Pathetic shower.

Only the Unionists can have pacts you see.

While ago SDLP* were actually leading the count, not sure what the number are now, *they only had 4/1 (20% or so) chance pre-count.

    Yea he is off now

Meltdown - Dodds and ELP losing - when they officially lose it will be something to behold

TBH Arlene is not far after him - pan nationalist fronts - nonsense

Sic semper tyrannis - thus always to Tyrants

Arlene is a really bad loser, blaming the SDLP and pacts, forgetting her pacts with the UUP and the threats from UDA/UVF

Mike Nesbitt making a tonne of sense on BBC 1 NI

Effectively condemning the use of the Terms Pan Nationalists

    Delighted for them.

At every turn the DUP have just shown them up for what they are.

    Delighted for Finucane:)

This is the reason why unionism needs to reform.

If they're just going to run on getting protestant voters only, eventually they will lose. Like they did tonight.

The Alliance party have to be the future for unionism because not only do they have a great ability of attracting catholics and minorities, but because these bonehead unionists aren't facing reality with demographic changes and persist with clinging onto protestant voters only. They're too bigoted to reach out to catholics. Sad day for them but who cares.

The union is actually safer IMO with the Alliance party IMO than it is with the DUP, whether or not protestant and unionist voters are smart enough to see that remains to be seen.

But nationalism would have a much harder time advocating for UI if the Alliance were the main choice for unionist voters. A unionist-lite party that supports being in the UK but supports the Irish language act. That works.

Confirmed that Finucane wins North Belfast.

    I'm loving these results.

I didn't vote as usual but I did vote for Brexit in 2016. The way I see it is I won't have children so why would I give two hoots about the future of this country?

Not a great speech by Finucane but the look on Dodds face was amazing!

Dodds moaning about the lack of acknowledgement from Finiucane and how SF are abstentionist.

Yes - something of a consolation after the very dissappointing exit poll 5 hours ago.

From the 18 NI MPs (I know some have yet to be Officially declared), Unionism has now lost its majority.

Apparently it's down to the absolute wire in FST. This has me very anxious now.

    True.

There are Catholics in NI who would want to remain in the UK.

Technically they are unionists, but the DUP don't see them that way. Just as themuns.

Tom Elliot just saying that there are still boxes being opened.

I'm hotting the scratcher now that I saw Dodds get the hook.
