Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Multiple mileage readings on car check

    Hi All

Did an online car check on a 2 year old car I was looking at it’s a UK import. The car had 6 different mileage readings on the report - each with UK trade beside it. Does this indicate that it may have been a rental car? I would have thought there would only be a mileage reading at each service.

    Thanks

If you have the UK reg you can go to the UK MOT site and get a brief summary of the fail/advisories as well as the mileage. You could also cross check the garages that serviced the car (if you have the service history handy).

If it's 2 years old won't have had an mot yet

Thanks - but the car is only 2 years old so I don’t think it would have had MOT yet. Also I imagine only one service so that’s why it’s strange that there’s 6 mileage readings for a 2 year old car

does the mileage get corrected or has 20-30k intervals, if lots of uk places do it by the books and record mileage, it could been gotten new tytes, oil change etc where they would record reading - as owner didn't want to spend fortune paying dealership.

Now if it doesnt add up or match for total mileage then it would be a red flag.

You haven't said what the current mileage is, regardless of the age. Could have gone back for a few warranty or recall issues as well as servicing.

Thanks - current mileage is 40000

    The intervals were 9k, 12k, 17k, 24k, 28k and 37k. Seems a bit odd.
