Connacht fans are embarrasing...bit of s football dive from Carty

That's ****e form from Carty, down like a sack of spuds

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,767 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Carty been taking acting lessons I see. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,230 ✭✭✭A-Train

Should have been a yellow at least but wasnt as bad on second viewing.

Correct decision by the ref. Nothing in it. A dive more then anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

To be fair with the way Connacht have been pushed over their line repeatedly with next to no resistance tonight, not much of a surprise that Carty would look like a crisp packet in the wind after being lightly touched by a lad barely out of school

Ref struggled there, usually he awards a penalty, yellow card or red, wondering how to award an Oscar for the dive.

The same booing will happen in every ground. They can do what they want

Would have taken the 3 there. Still, let's see if it pays off.

Another good maul and another for Kelleher.

This is awful, they look like scoring a try at every attack and two awful mistakes helped set up the last two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,433 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

    And it does.

Time to roll out the kids.

Oh wait most of them are already out there.

Two factors not considered: a good deal of force and no attempt to wrap - just about bumps it up to a yellow IMO.

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,942 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Connacht missing a lot of grunt up front.

Rg snyman would be a good acquisition ;)

    Tommane looking very good tonight.

Was worried about our maul pre-game. Finlay a big loss.

In saying the ref isn’t helping. Would love to know how he could think Carty was hit in the chest when he needed a HIA.

    To the people saying "dive"

You get a hit when you're off balance and not expecting a hit from someone 30kg heavier than you and you'll go down like that - saying it was a dive is pretty easy when you're not the one getting hit.

Cos he saw it first hand AND he saw it in replay

Because he was very clearly hit in the chest and the video made it exceptionally clear

He knew Carty was hit in the chest because cameras capture the exact events that happen on the pitch and allow us to review them at our leisure.

    Has Carty gone off?

Think the height was just about OK, but even if it's not high your head can get whipped forward pretty hard .

I’d say he hurt himself more throwing himself on the floor than getting an arm across the chest mate. He’s a rugby player not a footballer.

There's 10kg in the difference between Connors and Carry, if even. Unless Will's made a shift to TH that we haven't been made aware of.

What height do you want him to tackle him at just out of interest?

Wouldn’t even be a controversial decision. If they’re going with form he’s easily top right now.

    Throwing out of touch- check
    Power- check
    Speed- check
    Passing-check
    Offload-check
    Footwork-check

    Scrummaging- ?
    Mentality-?
    Tackling-?
    Breakdown work-?

    I’ve seen enough. Start him

Probably a bit less in fairness. Prob 25, no less than 20. Connors is listed as 102, but I do t believe that for a second (maybe 3-4 years ago)

    Another try ?

This is gonna be a long night for Connacht

Even putting aside this outrageous ****e talk, if Carty isn’t capable of taking contact from the opposition 7 he won’t last long

He knew Carty was hit in the chest because cameras capture the exact events that happen on the pitch and allow us to review them at our leisure.

I am at the game and I too was able to watch it at my leisure. Initial contact was to the chest and then head therefore it should have been yellow.

Then explain why he stayed on the ground holding his face/head?

This is a rout! Could be a very big score.

There was no contact with the head.

Why? That’s a totally believeable weight for a man of his frame and height as seen by other players

I wasn't criticizing the height of the tackle, I was explaining how one that isn't high could still lead to head damage.

If that’s true they will have to ban all tackles in rugby
