    I'm on connacht +4 @evens and win @13/8.

In saying that, I've probably just put a hex on them

I apologise to Connacht fans for foisting my betting hex on them

Go on Ross Byrne. Good try.

Have to say this version of Henshaw at 13 is playing well! And another try!

You must have looked at the wrong screen he never touched the head

Not sure why your at the match and on boards?

Definitely no head contact. Carry looked like he dived - but he didn't. It was the hit, on his chest, that rattled him and made his head whip a bit.

What is this 'offloading' thing they're doing and why cant Ireland do it?

Lowe is just being held back at the moment. Not giving him the ball is all that is keeping this score respectable for Conaucht

Tomane having a great half so far.

Hopefully Cian Healy lands a drop goal from 40m at some stage.

    Leinster clinical. Blowing them away

Haven’t seen Connacht play this poorly in a very long time. Leinster playing superbly too

Its something you can do when your forwards are facing no realistic opposition. Offloading is not a strategy. It is a consequence of domination.

They also do ball recycling at speed!

It was better crack at Christmas when we let them think they had a chance of winning and then took it away

Carty just opened a farmers field gate for him

Must be concussed after banging his head during the dive.

Why? That’s a totally believeable weight for a man of his frame and height as seen by other players

I disagree...but whatever, I'll concede it. Point still stands that getting hit like that when you're off-balance and not expecting it will throw you down , so shouts of "dive" are way off.

The Leinster Barbarians ladies and gents.

    Carthy

Leinster have absolutely dominated every aspect of this, in both defence and attack.

    A forearm across the chest

Very disappointing. Crazy how we can go from being so good defensively last week (1 missed tackle) to this. I was worried all in our injuries in the pack would cost us and haven’t been able to live with that maul.

Fair play to Leinster though. They have been unbelievable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 202 ✭✭selassie

Wonder what odds the bookies would give on a Leinster perfect season, winning every game?

    With no attempt to wrap...

I agree that there wasn't, on viewing, a whole lot to make you think he should be holding his head. But at the end of the day he shipped the hit and we're on an internet board speculating.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 128 ✭✭disposableFish

Even putting aside this outrageous ****e talk, if Carty isn’t capable of taking contact from the opposition 7 he won’t last long

Ah here, not matter what way you look at it was a bad tackle.

10s getting hit late isn't something the game should just accept.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,122 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

This is tough to watch. Can’t remember the last time I saw a pack this badly beaten up, have to say I could see it coming though.

    Exactly.

He went to do him, half pulled out of it, JC milked it.

No one is arguing with that, we have the most late hit 10 going. It’s more the theatrical dive from Carty that people are discussing here.

If that’s true they will have to ban all tackles in rugby

What are you on about? I haven't questioned the height.

No rule is perfect. You make them as best you can but there'll always be exceptions and people will get hurt in ways that are legal (in that aspect). You can't legislate for the hard cases and I'm not saying you should.

Was Henshaw not meant to be playing? Need I ask why he’s not or is it as it usually is with Robbie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,920 ✭✭✭✭stephen_n

Always reckoned Leinsters front 5 would dominate. Losing Belham didn’t help Connacht there at all. Leinster have really gone after them upfront though and it’s hard to live with that speed and physicality.

Usual story. He's about as reliable as Connacht in an interpro, you just never know if they'll actually show up even though they keep telling you they will in the lead up.
