Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do all ISPs in Ireland that offer eir's FTTH service offer a VOIP service automatically as a replacement for POTS or is it just specific ISPs such as eir, vodafone, airwire? Do Pure Telecom offer phone over VOIP?

You said in the other thread that you were too far from the exchange for POTS so I assume KN or open eir said this to you. It us likely no matter who you went with you would end up with VoIP.

I don't even know if it's possible now for a premises with no copper connection to get FTTH with a copper line for voice. Perhaps some of the ISPs here can confirm.

Are you having some issues with the VoIP?

Thanks again :) No issues with the voip, hopefully the setup you advised me on will go well, it hasn't been installed yet. Eir were sending the new house details (in the village, definitely eligible for FTTH just a new house so eircode wasn't on the list) off to open eir friday when I rang them and said they would get back to me today as it takes 24h for open eir to review/add to database. As you'd expect they didn't get back to me. I am hoping they did actually send off the details to open eir and the house is added (I'll check with airwire tomorrow) and I can just get any other provider now providing it's on the file when I check airwire tomorrow and the provider facilitates voip

    Every ISP is different.

So you will have to ask every individual ISP what it is, they're offering, if it doesn't state it on their website.

The phone service, that these providers offer, does not have to have anything to do with OpenEIR at all.

Westnet, Net1 and Airwire for example only offer phone using VoIP.
