Nearly every single Disney cartoon movie had a sequel or two and I never knew or seen them. Lion King, Pocahontas, Aladdin...

There was a period before the acquisition of Pixar that Disney animation had really lost its way and did a lot of derivative crap work. Thankfully well rectified since, when they bought Pixar they also put the guys in charge of it over Disney animation.

That’s not really true. In fact the early 90s on is seen as a golden generation of Disney animated movies (the 4 films released by Disney studios immediately before Toy Story are Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King and Pocahontas for example - you also have Nightmare before Christmas in there but what wasn’t Walt Disney Animation Studios)

The sequels were all made separately by Disney’s direct to video sector. They were obvious cash ins but that shouldn’t detract from the brilliant work done by the Studios without Pixar

Oh, I must have picked it up wrong when I read about it. In Bob Iger's memoir. :D

Think you're taking that up wrong or just remember it wrong, he said acquisition of pixar (2006). There's a good 11 years between that and Toy Story in 1995.

Disney bought Pixar the year after Chicken Little

Signed up for a 7 day trial and got charged some €1 fee. Is this normal? I paid via PayPal, maybe that was why.

probably a test transaction to ensure your payment method is valid and will revert

Probably mentioned already but the search function is atrocious, the silly symphonies are there but if you search for the word "silly" you get no results. The 'collections' are also strange, there's a Princess collection but no general collection for animated movies, there's a Marvel Animation collection but no MCU, but there is Pirates collection for 5 movies?? I'm loving the service and going back to watch all these shows and movies I'd forgotten but that's my only fault.

Anyone know why the McAvoy/Fassbender X-Men movies aren't there? Also disappointed they couldn't work out a deal with Sony for Homecoming and FFH.

Homecoming and FFH aren't there? WTF. That's stupid, that'd be like having all 9 SW films but missing 1.

Spider-Man MCU films Homecoming and Far from Home are Sony Pictures releases not Disney

Disney does not have distribution rights to standalone Spider-Man Films

The deal Disney has with Sony is a licence for Spider-Man to appear in other Marvel Studios films and Sony allowed to use other Marvel characters in their spider-man films and be part of MCU

All Standalone Spider-Man Films are Sony Pictures releases

I subscribed yesterday and cancelled it today. Not much on there unless you have kids or are a fan of superhero films. I liked the National Geographic docs but wouldn’t pay 70 quid a year for them!

I reckon Michael Eisner would have a different take.

Have had a good few issues already.

Buffering quite a lot. I have slow internet but Netflix and Amazon Prime have never had issues. It's seems to be struggling with picking a resolution for optimal viewing also.

Tried to watch the jungle book. Got something went wrong please try later 3 times in a row before it worked.

Started ant Man and the wasp earlier today. Said I'd finish it tonight. Went to continue viewing and it went back to the start of the movie. Then I fast forwarded to where I was and after 5 seconds it starts buffering and then says something went wrong, please try again later.

Having serious issues. Constantly buffering, saying can't find signal? I mean seriously. Netflix never has an issue.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,373 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

I haven't had a single issue and I've had plenty of issues with Netflix not working on the past too.

I already have them, it's just handy if I'm watching the kids to load up my D+ in their house. They also love Spidey.

I've been having a few issues also. Aside from the quality being abysmal, there's buffering and sometimes the screen will go black when it starts playing again and I'll have to go out and back in to restore the picture.

I also use Getflix and it's stuck on the American version. I tried switching it to Ireland but it's not working. Not a huge deal, but it might partly explain the terrible quality, unless everyone has a blurry sub-hd picture?

I know I cancelled too, no porn, horror or slasher films.

    Disappointing.

This is slowly going the way of the Gomo thread.

Is most of the content not already available on the likes of Sky Cinema, or am I missing something?

  • Registered Users Posts: 437 ✭✭The Rook

Apologies if this question has been asked before, but I'm trying to see seasons 1-6 of the Clone Wars, but can't seem to find them on my Disney Plus.

Is there something I'm not doing that I should be doing or is that content not available yet?

I can see Season 7 as it's being released week by week but nothing of Season 1-6 and I have someone in the house who is very eager to see them.

When I say "someone in the house" I actually mean me!

    Thanks in advance!

Click on what you see as Season 7 (the picture they're using is confusing) because all the seasons are under that.
