Wexford and SE in general is relatively highly populated compared to much of rural Ireland. But suffers as it's in a sort of 'death zone' on the outer ring of Greater Dublin. Investment, jobs, public services are dragged mostly towards Dublin but also less so to Cork and Waterford. There's parts of the west that have better services because the state have to provide them there due to distance from Dublin. Whereas in the likes of Wexford or south Wicklow, the message is 'sure get in your car and drive to Dublin'.

It was similar during the nineties boom if I remember right. Makes it sound like a poverty zone.

Yet when we in Wexford go to the polls we vote back in Howlin,Kehoe, browne, Darcy. Be it FF or FG. All Howlin has ever been interested in was social housing etc. Absolutely useless gombeen, a career Politician.By Election coming up,same self serving clowns going up on posters.

A vote for the Greens and you could be taxed out of even that option.
