Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new car for 2020.
Something I've never done before. !!

The Hyundai Kona Hybrid too my eye,
The idea of having a battery that charges itself seemed to be a great idea.
However as with everything, there has to be a downside.
Dealers tend not to mention any, they only sell cars with amazing features.

    My question is
    (a) Are there other makes as good ??, if there are other makes
    (b) Are they all they claim ??

    Opinions welcome,

    Thanks

    Jay

The KIA Niro Hyprid and Niro Electric are really good and well worth looking at too.

Toyota would be the best for hybrids as they have been doing it the longest and have the most experience.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the post.
The KIA looks a better option, slightly dearer but more for your money.

    Thanks

I drove the Kona Hybrid last week ... only a very short test drive ... and it was only OK. Certainly not fast to accelerate. Inside is a bit plasticky too which I suppose is to be expected.
I'm going to try the 2.0L Toyota CH-R in next few weeks hopefullly. Looks better, but more expensive.

I test drove the 1.8L CH-R a few years ago and it was nice but not very powerful. I'm looking forward to the 2.0L version and it finally has Android Auto now too :)

So it seems that Toyota are not going to bring any 2.0L CH-Rs into Ireland for test drives. They will order one for a customer when requested with delivery in March+.
