I'm Irish but I looked decidedly Asian when I was a baby, people used to ask my mother where my da was from.
"Ah look at him, where's his daddy from?"
"Ballybough..."
"Oh, ah right... but where is he FROM though?"

With the result that multiple times during my childhood, my da thought it was hilarious to tell me I was adopted from China. I fell for it every time... I'd be in floods of tears saying "No you're lying it's not true!" and he'd be pointing at a picture of me on the wall saying "sure look at you, of course it's true".

And no, I am not posting the picture.

I was an adorable kids, can't convince me otherwise. I was maybe 3-4?
Still have these teeny slit eyes and I couldn't pull of a fringe. Perks of being a cute kid.

Probably 1978 with my older brother and sister; on the car she drove into a hedge a year later

This is the best of 4 photos taken in a passport photo booth in God knows where taken back around 88 for my secondary school enrollment. I had the startled look in all 4 but this was the best. Eyebrows are in low earth orbit.
When we left secondary they printed a Class of 93 with highlights of our years there. On the back they had all the pics used in enrolment.
