    skysports-liverpool-manchester-city_4826384.jpg?20191104155409

    Match Odds:

    Liverpool 9/5
    Draw 5/2
    Man City 7/5

Worth a match thread surely. Biggest Premier League game of the season and will be a defining moment in the title race whatever happens.

    Team news:
Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Man City XI: Bravo; Walker, Stones, Fernandinho, Angelino; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo, Aguero, Sterling.

What way do you see it going? I reckon Liverpool will win the midfield battle. Fancy a strong performance from Fabinho. I don't trust City with that backline and Bravo in goal.

    3-1 Liverpool.

City are still city though, they completely dominated this game last year. I never predict a liverpool loss but I can see a 1-2 today.

Souness to Roy in punditry, "Have you ever come from behind?" Awkward..

    2-2.

Liverpool to play deep if they get ahead and get walked through

If (and it's not an insignificant if) Liverpool can get at that City defence I'd expect them get a lot of joy. From that point of view the midfield battle will be key.

Expect this to get cagey until the first goal, things will open up then.

Liked Kompany's honesty there: 'I gave some of my best speeches of my career in the dressing room here to no effect whatsoever."

Nervy start from Liverpool, City coming at them straight away.

    OMFG!

    Fabinho!

Looked like a possible handball down the other end though

VAR contradicting its rules earlier this season twice in the last couple of weeks now

How was that not a peno?

    VAR is a farce

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

    City get Varred again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,356 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

That is another controversial VAR decision, the arm was outstretched.

    Great start anyways.

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,233 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

City can feel pretty aggrieved tbh.

The inconsistency of VAR is infuriating.

    That’s 100% a penalty. Farce

Never a peno, great finish by Fabinho.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,541 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Did it hit Silvas arm too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,919 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Carragher saying TAA’s arm was not outstretched is odd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Sterling with a big chance there.

    Absolutely a pen. WTF.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

It hits Silva’s arm from about half a yard away off a ricochet. TAA’s arm is out and if travels to hit it

Why sure it hit the Man City hand 1st

Wasn't it touted earlier in the season that ANY TIME ball that touches an arm thats leads to a goal for that team is disallowed?

Silva handed it first, its not a Pen.

Oh, I’ve seen penos given for that....

City much the better team, this must be killing them but if Liverpool don’t settle into the game City will win if this continues.

Only thing I can think, they decided they wouldn't have given a penalty because of that anyway.

(Or VAR is just a mess)

Thought I heard him say it was by his side which was very strange.

Another free kick whipped in that City should have scored from.

If handball by attacker leads to a goal it will not stand as Mane found out at Old Trafford

Why sure it hit the Man City hand 1st

There is no hope for you if you can’t see the difference. I wouldn’t expect you to acknowledge why one is different from the other

Call it back for the free out. Cany say advantage, cos thatd be over as soon as TAA handled.

Game over now, this could be a cricket score with that city defence
