So close from City..... They are completely dominant now.

De Bruyne's not been up to his usual standard. Looks a bit nervy.

Just turned on. Why the constant booing?

Guess you have not watched many big games at Anfield in recent season

Has any research been done into that though? I wouldn't know from memory, but I suspect at least one of United's titles was won on points picked up from jammy injury time winners scored long after the whistle would have gone in a game being played by any other team.

Another LOL here. What on earth are you rambling about. You suspect?

Mainly when Sterling or Stones are on the ball.

So the VAR man can play VAR advantage now? Interesting stuff

Putting the overriding saltiness of every post you’ve made in this thread aside, who is talking about VAR playing advantage? VAR just didn’t overrule the referee playing on and the subsequent play stood. Whether the decision was right or wrong, and I’m not sure, that part is pretty easy to comprehend.

I fear for Angelino’s safety at half time, he is surely being murdered by Pep

Might be seeing Scott Carson at HT.

Bravo has faced 3 shots, conceded 3 goals and been sent off in less than an hour of football this week.

Have they even showed the Salah replay yet?

It's not just because of who's playing today but VAR is ruining the EPL. Refs told to use pitch side monitors but we haven't seen one doing it.
The armpit excuse has to be the worst yet in a growing list of bizarre decisions.

I thought the ref is not allowed consult monitors in the PL?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,541 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

The ref played on VAR stayed with the on field decision can't it back then

Is that a question or statement? Var just got it wrong, which it has a lot this season

Perhaps you're too young to remember before "fergie time" became a meme. United scored many late goals after a questionable amount of time was added at the end of games. It was a real thing.

Sterling lashing out there after getting pushed into the hoarding.

Sky banging on about city’s left back when both goals have come down the right. Won’t mention it because England’s Kyle walker is there. He’s gone to crap in the last few months

Lashing out is a stretch. Telling TAA off. He knew what he did.

Interesting to see will Liverpool fans think Fabinho should be booked cause they cry about Fernandinho doing those tackles :pac:

He absolutely should have been booked.

Angelino looks like he was out on the piss last night. Like a UCFL Div 2 player. Salah can probably smell the Red Bull off him.

Oh i know, i'd have probably been sent off were I Sterling - hate seeing lads deliberatly usher others into those hoardings.

I thought the ref is not allowed consult monitors in the PL?

They were told to do it by the governing body.

Mike Riley told them not to because "it would delay the game". It took nearly 4 minutes for a decision in 2 games,is anyone saying a ref taking a look would be longer than that.
Coincidentally there's a meeting about it on Thursday.

Wtf does something that happened 10 years ago. I presume you are talking about the Owen winner have to do with that's happening today?

Liverpool FBs so dangerous. Tough for any team to deal with. City not been able to do so.

2nd goal clearly onside and the 1st goal arm was in a natural position. What is he supposed to do, cut his arm off.

I was (jokingly) replying to the United fan complaining that VAR had just handed Liverpool the title, then tried to find out if any articles have actually been published about 'fergie time' and how much of an affect it had on United's success.

What ever happened to winning a league title the right way - Scoring 95th minute winners in matches where you should only have had 2 minutes added on.

    Game's gone to sh*te.

And to be honest, I completely forgot that Michael Owen even played for United so I wasn't referring to that. I just remember so many times throughout the 90s and up to the mid-00s when I watched the PL where time would be added at the end of a United game in which they were losing/drawing and I'd think "where has the ref got 5 minutes from?". Then United would go on to score, so I'm now curious how many of these late goals happened and the affect it had on their season. That's all.

What's his deal - is he a United/other team "fan" or does he just dislike Liverpool? My only other recollection of him with Liverpool is the Martial goal, but I gather these aren't his only anti-Liverpool moments....

That half whizzed by. Thought City played well at times but they couldn't take the chances, and with their defence looking as dodgy as it is they needed to grab at least one back. Fancy Liverpool to get another and put it all to bed.

City played well and probably deserved better for their play but you don't get what you deserve. The cliche good attack wins matches; great defenses wins trophies really seems to apply here. City defence looks so incredibly porous and with them having to chase the game it's hard to see Liverpool not nabbing another few goals.

Liverpool are letting Man City run over them to hit the weaker defence on the counter not letting City pack the defence out like last seasons game

What a fantastic 45 minutes of football, handball by Trent then score against the run of play seconds later.

    I love it.

Lack of reaction time and arm not in an unatural position. . .

that is bullsh1t to be fair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,543 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

All on Pep. Could have started Otamendi (as his only natural CB on the bench) with Fernandinho in the screen in front of the defence that he does so effectively. Especially when throwing Angelino into the cauldron. Cancelo could have slotted in at left-back too.
