Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Game's over, title's over. They can't lose it from here

Lack of reaction time and arm not in an unatural position. . .

that is bullsh1t to be fair.

It honestly sounds like they've just made up the rule. PL are a joke. That was a handball and a penalty.

Would have been interesting what would have happened had Fabinho's shot not gone in...

handball by city player 1st and watching in real time there was no reaction time so ref got it right.

Liverpool had a larger lead later in the season last year. Nice try

City played really well at times and Liverpool looked quite nervy.

I expect Liverpool to settle themselves and win it comfortably now, the City back four is just not good enough when up against the best teams in Europe.

On the new rules I think it's a peno. Bernardo definitely handles it first but I don't think that counts in the new rules.

Ref has more common sense though in how to apply it

Why so the ball hardly travelled a few yards from a ricochet, his arm was by his side.

In fairness, City handball first completely changes situation.

Logically how can you react naturally to a handball, because it is not permitted.

PL have stated there is more forgiving on handballs that have bounced off body parts onto the hand. Ball bounced off the city players hand into TAA arm so going by the PL it is not a hand ball

I thought it was the opposite, attackers cant gain advantage from a handball, intentional or not. Like the spurs game at city.

that does count in the new rules, it can't hit an attackers hand at all accidentally or otherwise so free out is whats given

    Or Mané v United?

I'll be honest, I don't know the rules anymore. Maybe the Blue Moon forum will have a balanced explanation for me.let me find my tin foil hat and head over therr

Whatever about Pools front three I dont know what teams are going to do with Pool's full backs they are by far the best pair of full backs in the league for a while now, lethal

This has made no difference in other instances this year......

This is what annoys me most about VAR sometimes common sense + VAR is used. Other times its no sense and only VAR so if it grazes a hair on his arm its a foul intention or not.

Where is the damn consistency. Either make it black and white with VAR and any hand contact or let ref decide by himself and dont use VAR at all for handballs.

This straddling the fence after 12 weeks of VAR is daft pick a damn side.

Next goal is crucial, City far from out of this, pool defence not filling me with confidence from set pieces

I think a lot of the frustration with var, including even mainstream professional commentary, they dont know the finer details of actual rules and guidelines.

I believe the real is the attackers can't gain an advantage of it's their player hitting the ball and hits their arm.

So it makes B.Silva one irrelevant because a Liverpool player hit it off him.

Could be wrong. But otherwise you'd just have defenders booting the ball at forwards arms.

If the ball had gone out for a throw in quickly it would have been brought back for a penalty.

Poor Kompany after Jose said everyone was laughing at the goal. I wasn't

I love these posts. Klopp continues to build new Alamos in the minds of Utd fans. He wouldn’t win a trophy, he wouldn’t challenge for a league, now it’s a last desperate tempt of fate: ‘it’s over, they couldn’t possible throw it from here’ when I know you’ll be desperately checking every Liverpool score the rest of the season hoping it does. Just like you’ll be hanging on every minute of this second half, wishing and praying for City to turn it around.

It’s a glorious time to be alive, whatever happens before the final whistle.

Be interesting to see how city react to this setback. Will they lose the plot and get a few reds or compose themselves and grind out some sort of result like champions!

VAR is now making things worse than when we just had officials.
Some amazing decisions and explanations coming from them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Mourinho said it himself earlier. "9 points? Goodbye."

    Mane seals it.

    Mane,

This could be a hefty defeat for City come the end.

Think someone needs to explain to pep that if the ball didn’t hit TAA’s arm and fell to Sterling to score, it wouldn’t have counted because silva gained an advantage from the ball hitting his hand. On that basis alone it’s not a pen.

    Whata cross from Henderson.

Wonder will Guardiola admit as much the way Wenger used to do in this position.

4/9 to win the title, I’d be surprised if any team has ever lost it from that position.

The amount spent on full backs by City and they are getting crucified out wide. Honestly Alexander-Arnold and Robertson are fúcking insane.

Has there even been a better pair of Full Back's working in tandem before? Maybe Cafu and Roberto Carlos at Brazil circa 2002?
