Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tied to Vodafone contract but Vodafone leaves me without internet for 3+ months

    Hey folks,
I was originally a Vodafone Gigabit customer but I moved to the country within my 12 month contract so Vodafone said I had to stay with them and move my contract to the new house.
Fair enough, they sent an engineer who discovered that my phone line was too weak or there was some sort of blockage and that another team needed to have a look.
The day after that, without any email or phone call they send me a sms saying that the required team is only available for mid January (!), great!

What I’d like to do now is cancel that contract with them. There has to be some sort of clause saying that if they can’t deliver the expected service, I can get out of the contract. That sounds about fair.

Has anyone had any experience like that ?

Generally .. if you signed up for a contract and there is no buyout fee in the contract or terms (this is the case with Vodafone), then the full 12 months worth of fees or what is remaining is due. Even if you can't avail of the service.

This is due to the discounts, that you got when signing up.

If you had signed up with a provider, that lets say gives you a 6 months contract, you pay the installation and for the router, then you won't have that issue.

None of these providers like to operate at a loss. It is not healthy for them. So yes ... you signed the contract, you are bound by the contract.

Most providers are making a loss on their customers the first year of service, overall. It's the cost of providing the service in the first place.
