Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Avoid those. You surely have a DPC as it is. Check the ground level outside. Is it too high? Post pics.

"Rising Damp" in the generally accepted understanding of the term is astonishingly rare.

There's a good chance you have one or more of the following:
    a. a leak
    b. poor drainage outside the wall
    c. some sort of cold bridging / condensation issue.

I'd try to rule those out first before pursuing any of the more "fanciful" options.

    .
re the water, if the water from gutter runs off below the DPC in the walothen no issue: not ideal but no issue.
    .
You need to solve the source before you call anyone.
For now if you have a fan heater, just set it on cold and face it into the corner to start drying out the wall.

Reminds me of one of Niall Tobin's, RIP, jokes...
He arrives in a house of a pal who is stripping wallpaper?
    N: Redecorating then?
    Pal: No, Moving:)

I’d a similar issue, was causing damp to ruin floors and creep up the walls. Took up the carpet and chased it out. Ended up being whoever did the extension didn’t cover the cover pipes for the radiator and the concrete eat it away. Simple fix ,but lots of damage from a small hole dripping 24, 7.

Raising damp can be an red herring
