Christ above, Labour really, really don't help themselves do they? look at this condescending drivel...

    https://twitter.com/CharlotteIvers/status/1204023209819017218

On a side note, I feel like I've aged thirty years since this election was called, it's a ludicrously long campaign.

Sounds like a complete load of codswallop. What evidence is there that Labour canvassers are saying "F*** Boris, he's a moron" and "We hate the Lib Dems" to people on the doorsteps? That would be aggressive and self defeating for any party.

Are Novara Media the Labour party? (I know they support Labour but are they affiliated?)
Where is the byline of the other doc?

Novara would be aligned to Momentum.

The tweet (which Novara subsequently deleted) linked to this which seems to be the source of the second doc

Dont believe novara is aligned to anybody, independent left wing media group though obviously very pro corbyn.

Some activist there getting a bit worked up as stakes get higher and they enter fight of their lives. Its a bit embarrassing and juvenile but an outlier in terms of overall labour campaign which, if anything, may have lacked some of the passion and fight articulated in that missive.

Well that may well be true, but this isnt a case of a child lying in a waiting room

    The Child was
    • Admitted to Hospital
    • was recognized as needing care
    • was receiving treatment
    • but had to lie on a floor as there was no beds

Its one thing to lie down in a waiting room - quite another of getting through to the AnE but lying on a floor while receiving treatment

point taken. just goes to show the dysfunctionality at the heart of the system.
i had a similar situation myself. i slipped and fell on my shoulder, pulled a few ligaments. awful pain. no alcohol involved i hasten to add.

i went to A&E, and was being processed but after overs 3 hours waiting i gave up and went home.

The left wing version of Guido Fawkes and like Guido best avoided as you don't get any nuance or any sort of balance from either.

I didnt get to 20 seconds before that became too much. If that utterly atrocious and simplistic slogan annoys traditional tory voters even 5% as much as it does me, then i think there's a small chance it might end up backfiring.

In ANY election anywhere in the world, such an image would be an immediate game changer.

Was chatting about this with someone else, I actually think Trump would have handled it much better as he is very good at turning on fake pity.

I think Gove, Hunt, obviously Cameron would have handled that situation so much better , astonishing how crass he is when it should have been a relatively easy moment to defuse.

Don't know how much of a game changer it is, but if you were a tory and tired after a tough few weeks campaigning having to spend the next few days defending that ****show you'd be absolutely furious.

Of course, and to be honest the only reason i posted was to highlight that he was being treated - i think this is being spun that the child was just in the waiting room - that would be less offensive - still terrible, but far less so then receiving treatment on the floor

No question iv had some awefl experiences in AnE myself - but as bad as they have been iv never been asked to lie on a floor - let alone to have my daughter lie on one

My point was that these people are canvassing on behalf of Labour candidature (and probably doing them no favours with moderate voters).

Over here they'd be aligned with one of the margin of error parties

Tory Spinners, and pro brexiteers are going to spin this as
    • charming
    • funny
    • witty

I found it pathetic to be honest - utterly pathetic - funny if it was not so infuriating

but it will be defended as usual im sure

Tories obviously keen to make a late push for the crucial teen female vote. The mixed race couple...i mean, i guess why not?

The Tory online counter to the young boy story is being exposed all over Twitter this evening
    The phrase:
"A good friend of mine is a senior nursing sister at Leeds Hospital"
    is becoming rather infamous!

    :D

guy on LBC blaming the kid's parents for putting the lad on the floor.
seems to think the story was somehow contrived?

That's a dodgy road to go down. I'd need to see some proper proof regarding that.

Even if so, its somewhat irrelevant as it was unbelievably bad from Boris.

Just say I'l try and get in contact with the parents and find out why this has happened in the next day or so. That's the story killed right there.

For all their flaws, the likes of Gove, Hunt, Jaavid would have done the above.

The new one now is: "I’m a former paediatric A&E and PICU nurse..."

    Spreading fake conspiracy theories now.

    Absolutely shameless.

Pure gutter politics but sure it's all they're good for.

One of the moat amazing thigs in the Election campaign is that nobody knows where Boris actually stands on anything.
His favourite topic Brexit. if he gets a large majority will he swing toward a soft Brexit, screw the ERG crew? Remember not long ago no-one thought he'd even try and get a deal, but he did.
It really shows how trite and stage managed the election was that the opposition couldn't even force Boris to take an actual positin on Brexit, he's gotten through the election campaign without alienating either wing of the Tories. I really don't know if that's really poor by the opposition or clever campaigning by the Tories.
Having most of the national press as attack dogs on the opposition leader really helped I assume.
I have found virtualy all the British media unwatchable during the campaign. Between being utterly biased to the even worse balanced panels where two participants see the same issue in totally opposite viewpoints, it's been car crash TV

You do get some early seats, who specialise in doing that. Really into 2/4 am to get the full flow of seats filled. If it's running tight a small discrepancy from the exit poll could mean a swing of 25 seats.

Most (all?) of the extremely fast to return seats are long term Labour holds that would never have been close calls. That might not be the case this year so they may need to either slow down or there'll be a recount called

The hospital apologised to the family and said it was their most overcrowded day in three and a half years.

The 'fake news' is coming from the Conservative apologists.

English will vote Johnson in their millions. Brexit has let the racist genie out of the bottle and they'll flock towards the tories.

So a Corbyn victory ain't gonna happen and he'll resign after 2 general election defeats. Corbyn will also be 74 at the 2024 election.

    I hope I'm wrong.

I am here in the south of England and many are turning to vote Labour, or tactically voting to get rid of the Tories. There's a real on-the-ground sense that enough is enough.. and folks have woken up to 10 years of tory austerity as the real issue, not the EU.

Racists, uninformed, or working class tory will vote tory no matter what. But the whole country is not made up of them.

    C'mon Jeremy!

so if the Novara piece is NOT the Labour party, can you prove that the fake news is coming from the Tory party, or do we just presume it is because we want to?

why anyone believes anything that is posted on twitter is beyond me
