No surprise tbh. Swinson is an utterly horrid individual.

Get Brexit done (and try not to destroy the UK in the process). Good luck with it Boris.

A part of me is very satisfied that this man will now have no excuses for the calamity to come.

    UK might not survive this.

Scotland, you know what to do.

If that exit poll is correct, Scotland CLEARLY DOES know what to do!

Not really but I know what you mean.

Obviously we'll see the detail later but it looks like the youth vote either is wildly overestimated or once again turned out to be very online but not at all real world in their convictions.

Many Remainers have a tepid relationship with the democratic principle.

This is a mandate for Brexit. Nothing short of it.

Looks like Scotland is set to become a virtual one-party state.

If the exit polls represent the real results, that's the worst Labour defeat since forever? And Corbyn will absolutely have to go

I'd say the pound will rally tommorrow.

Labour's Corbyn will go down as one of the worst leaders in UK history; the lowest result for the party since before WWII.

No identity as a leader. Hard to figure out what he stood for on Brexit and the only other thing I associate with him is antisemitism and the never-ending issues surrounding that.

With that majority I don't think so. He'll swagger back to EU and turn the screw now. The deal he got is not great, he'll go get better now.

    Taxi for Corbyn

Corbyn won't go easily. He'll do what socialists always do. Launch another purge of the party to eliminate the weak non believers who cost him power.

Brilliant result for the majority who voted leave.

For the first time since the war, Labour have won less than 200 seats.

Yeah, this seemed likely. I underestimated the margin but I was braced for a Johnson victory. We're getting the deal in January then so...

Exactly, if people wanted a 2nd Brexit referendum this was the chance to get one, they rejected it, adios.

Tomorrow ? It's gone up 2% in the less than ten minutes since the exit poll was announced.

Really? What screw does he actually have.

Labour worse than 1983. That is bad

More than Corbyn needs to go, the party needs to purge all the other hard-left entryists who have joined in recent years. Unfortunately I don't believe Labour have enough decent centrists left, they have largely been purged - I expect another Corbyn-like figure to become leader, and the Tories will win again in 5 years time.

I'm relaxed enough about the result.....the whole 'Euroscepticism' thing taken off the stage at long last

It is a mandate for Brexit. This is also a mandate for a Scottish referendum as well. Nothing short of it and unquestionable.

What little hope I had for the UK is gone. If this pans out it’s staggering, absolutely staggering.

It's a funny old thing, as all you hear about is people wanting to stay, fighting for another VOTE on Brexit, but this election doesn't show that at all.

One seat for the Greens......wow the Green Wave across Europe is alive and well....

In the UK system a small party like the Greens have zero chance and this was basically a Brexit election.
