    great point

Whether that's the way it should be done is another question but that is the way it is.

Whatever you think of Bercow, he certainly knows his stuff.
his antics in the house only bolstered the support for leave

Tony Blair was by turns in the media: Tony, Tony Blair, Blair and finally Bliar.

So it moved to a more formal full name the further along his term in office ?

Seems so many voted for the Conservatives, but no one will admit it, it's the same as Trump, most people would never admit they voted for him.

Absolutely. 60% in Sunderland is abysmal. Politics is broken.

So why were there queues at polling stations?

Is this the US strategy of under resourcing polling stations where they know the opposition are strong?

    No evidence for this whatsoever.

Alot of the queues were in London

This election result will be very different in London

But Labour lost the midlands and the north ...and the seats there
Its like 2 different countries in many ways

I think it's telling when people refer to the PM by their first name and the leader of the opposition by his surname.

Truly great leaders are known by their surnames.

Twitter is a load of b******s sometimes.

It's best to wait to see results.

One pic of a queue doesn't mean a high turnout.

Nothing unusual in commuter areas, people decide to vote on the way to the station, find that everyone else has had the same idea so have to come back later.
After all voters have over 15 hours to go in and vote, many just want to do it at the same time.

There is always the possibility that at least one of the queues was staged!

Boris is a spoofer par excellence.
the fact that the UK electorate appear to have been taken in by such really tells us just what a dire state they are in.

Truly great leaders are known by their surnames.

Notable leaders have been known by surnames both good and bad. Stalin and hitler and the like come to mind. They may have been persuasive leaders but they were horrible human beings.

I don't think it will be that big of a battle. The only way back to power for Lab is through Scotland. A much more England centric, nationalist Tory party may see getting shot of Scotland as cementing their position in power in England for the next 30 years.

    The only issue is Faslane
Labour have no chance in Scotland.
Even the Troy reassurance was flash in the pan.

SNP are doing way better in the GE than they are in the Assembly. That alone says a lot.

Faslane ? The first and best answer to any question about Scottish independence is to say what actually happened in Ireland. The pound ? , the CTA ? , exports to the UK ? ( down from over 90% to 9% (actually 7% excluding NI)) Pensions ? Reciprocal arrangements on XYZ ? Ground Rent ?

    Faslane ? Treaty Ports.

An alternative answer is that the US supported their boomers for many years in that locality from a depot ship.

The Sun, Mail, Times, Telegraph, their Sunday papers.

The Guardian has a much smaller readership compared to the above as well.

Because the SNP have done so well?

Anyone who stands against membership of the UK are dodgy fraudsters.

    Never gets old. :)

They didn't. I'd be shocked if you knew anything about his so-called antics.
