Hmm going from 10 seats to 8 doesn’t seem that bad. I’d prefer if they went to 3 or 4... or ideally zero.

Not when they were expecting to have at least 11.

If it goes that way there's a Unionist minority sent to Westminster.

If that's accurate, its a massive result in Derry.

McCallion won marginally last time, and the people of Derry don't think she has done much since she got the seat. So it is good to see them punished. At last people have reacted against them not sitting in Stormont for 1000 days.

Seems that he's gotten the old Durkan Unionist voters.

SNP take Arbroath from the Tories.

That's 2 steals for the SNP - one each from LP and CP

After the vote is complete, Arlene, Jeffrey & Sammy will no doubt proclaim themselves as victors simply because they will most probably remain the NI party with the most Westminster seats.....and they will attempt to deflect from their losses / non-wins during interviewers with various newscasters & reporters.

They were already saying that before any results came in. Heard someone say it to an interviewer.

BBC Scotland showing a very happy looking SNP candidate in East Dunbartonshire - that's Swinson's seat - but results not declared yet.

What happens when she loses her seat? Lib Dems attempt to quietly elect a new leader in the next couple of weeks, and Swinson fades into oblivion?

It’s a terrible night for the Lib Dems but this will be overshadowed by Labour’s enormous defeat. It was only a couple of months ago that people were predicting 80+ seats for them, and Swinson was crowing about being PM.

I do not know where the Lib dems go from here

I saw a suggestion earlier that Luciana Berger MIGHT just edge her seat and win

Is there anyone of any quality who can take over from swinson - ? Is Berger too young in Lib dem terms to take the party?? i think she is too new in a way

BBC out in the rain in the middle of a December night. This was one election for staying indoors with the sets.

Sources on BBC saying Finucane taking Belfast North.

This is an earthquake if so.

The Irish Government will be over the moon with all of these results. Could not have gone much better really.

I'd like to see Layla Moran as leader, even though she was only elected in 2017.

Belfast East margin narrowing for Alliance to about 2000 votes which is remarkable!

A Unionist seat for almost a century - incredible if it falls.

North Down was good. But a mere amuse bouche.

Conservatives in Ayr (Con seat) looking very unhappy at the count centre.

Looks like Labour is in real trouble in Wales. 2 seats lost to the Tories-Wrexham and Vale of Clwyd. Exit polls suggest another 4 could go the same way.
    Wales currently stands at 3 LP/ 3 CP/1 PC

Good odds on the Buckethead, 1.83 earlier but didn't bite, nice chap.

All the value seem to be with NI, as DUP-SF take losses from other slight outsiders.

See the old rogue Galloway didn't get in, called the Labour debacle weeks ago though.
