Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

adding second story to an extension

Currently looking at an end of terrace house that has a single story extension built that joins up to the next house (they extended 2 story to the side).

    So I have 2 questions really -

Would there likely be a structural issue to adding the 2nd floor?
Would there likely be a block in planning permission?

    1. Structure to be determined on site by structural engineer
    2. Given that there is precedence next door, planning seems feasible

Would a surveyor have a clue about the structural possibility? wondering if it could be checked at that stage while possibly buying

No, because the foundations will have to be exposed to determine their width, depth etc
