    Hello,

    I have a second account, I think perhaps I set it up for adverts, can't recall tbh and didn't even realise there was a boards one there until I was trying to change my email address and it said it was in use though there are no posts, no ads either!!! How do I go about deleting that account and reusing the email address in this account?

    Hi there,

    You can close the other account by logging into it and going through your User Control Panel: https://www.boards.ie/close_account.php

    I'm afraid that email addresses are retained in an inaccessible hashed format for a period of 40 days, so you will be unable to reuse that email address during this period. It might be worth trying to change the email associated with that account here: https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/profile.php?do=editpassword to a generic email or made up one. You may then be able to use this email address for your current account, but I believe that it will still be locked out. Worth a try though...

    Just FYI, I put in the fake email and it still wouldn't allow me to reuse the email and because it was awaiting email confirmation on that other account ,which I couldn't do as it was fake, it wouldn't let me change the email to an alternative so I ended up having to close the account anyway lol !
