Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Locked to Vodafone

Used an EIR number to switch - will be used with VF SIM going forward

Yes, it's dual SIM, plus AFAIK you can use both SIMs and a TF card unline some phones where the second SIM occupies the TF space

IIRC an unlock code can be requested from VF depending on your spend and previous requests. Not dependent on phone

Do you have a non-Vodafone SIM to hand? AFAIK as long as there is a Vodafone SIM in slot 1, the second slot should accept a SIM from any network even though it's not unlocked.

    Appears I was wrong.

My son just checked his A21s there with an Eir SIM and both slots are registering so phone appears to be supplied unlocked

Second phone bought is a Xmas present so can't check that one

Most recent Samsung phones are factory unlocked by default if they are dual sim.

I think there is a problem with 48 or it was Lyca.

It'll work fine but the question is by the time you get it, will there be any stock left?

I always make sure to have a stock of unused 48 SIMs to hand to be ready to pounce!

Now thats a handy tip , might just order up a few more to have as spares , lets hope there will be stock left when it arrives 🀞

Order the free ones from eir as they are accepted in all the Vodafone porting offers. Sometimes lyca, 48 and Tesco are excluded so better safe than sorry.

Trying to order online, is there anyway to bypass the verification code requirement for existing numbers?

How else do you envision the site checking if you are in possession of ported number?

  • Registered Users Posts: 48 BatMaths

1 of my orders have gone through so far, it's with anpost. Others are still "awaiting info" for tracking, so might be cancelled but at least one went through.

Security answers on your account. Verified by Visa passcode is a requirement on lot of purchases, but your bank can bypass the requirement, once you answer security questions to prove ownership.

You use a sim that is not your main one. i.e. get a free one from eir or 48. Put sim in a phone. Order from vodafone using new sim number. They'll text it during process with a code to ensure number is real. Complete purchase. Get new phone (if they dont cancel). Phone may be locked to Vodafone and if it is you'll need to network unlock it.

Well you can only get this deal by switching. Otherwise pay full price and sign up as new customer. Get a throwaway sim

An order I placed yesterday with an Eir sim got cancelled this morning it seems..

Spoke to live chat about my order saying cancelled, this was their reply :(

" Thank you for your patience your order status is to be cancelled. It is got cancelled due to our technical glich in our system & this order is at to be cancelled state so we need to escalate thsi to our concern team to put this order at cancel state and it would would get at cancel state within 72 hours and once this order will get cancelled state we will refund your payment for this order and your will get your refund within 3-5 working days"

once this order will be at cancelled state you can place the new order form your side so I would request you to wait for 72 hours. It would be on cancel state within 72 hours.

Money has been gone from my account for days :(

Ordered a €40 A21s last night with the intention of returning the €90 one I bought last week but I better hold off just in case. I deselected all communications so unlikely to get a dispatch or cancellation notification......

Trying to register for an account to check the order status is a pain too. It sends the email a 6 digit authorisation code but it takes about an hour to arrive, and at that stage when you input it it's already expired. A joke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,212 ✭✭✭Roberto_gas

Order for white went through...shows shipping ID etc so I am hopeful it wont be cancelled !

Presumably there was no issues with refunds, etc?

I always paid via Revolut, it was mostly reverted after 5 days, some were not, I contacted support on Revolut and took 30 second to revert the funds every time.

Ah fair enough! I used a credit card just in case there was any issues, so should be handy enough to get a refund if it doesn't come through in a week or so.. Thanks!
