    Hi Guys,

I am in the market for a new TV for the playroom and the kid's (and Dad's!) PS4.

Smart TV functionality isn't a priority as I have my own setup but I'd like to have something that gets the most out of the graphics from the PS4; budget is around €450 - 500

I'd be interested in any open box deals that are available or coming up

    Any recommendations?

    Hi setanta1000,

The best TV at that budget would be the LG 55UM7400. It has a great 4K panel and would be the best 55" TV under 500".

I don't have any in open box at the moment but the price on that one is 489 euro including shipping at the moment:

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi David,

Thanks for the quick response and that looks like a great TV.

I see that Littlewoods have this at €475 - any chance you would price match?

Also does that TV come with the "Magic Remote" whatever that is?

Alternatively if the budget was able to go to €600 would there be any material difference in performance from TVs in that range?

Was also looking at a pair of the JBL 500BT if you have a pair available?

    Cheers

    Hi setanta1000,

I wouldn't be able to match the Littlewoods price as they only include a standard 12 month guarantee. They would need to include a 5 or 6 year guarantee to be able to match it. Our price on that TV would be 489 euro witha  6 year guarantee and shipping included.

The TV doesn't come with a magic remote. It's basically a point and click remote where the pointer shows on the screen. I have one myself and it's very convenient but you would need to go for a higher spec model to get that.

If you were to increase the budget to 600 euro I would recommend the Philips 55PUS6754. The smart hub isn't as good but the panel is better as it uses micro dimming. This will give better contrast and colour and it's down to 549 euro:

    Kind regards

    Hi David,

Thanks so much for the recommendation - I do like the look of that Philips TV and the price looks good as well.

Let me consult with the Mistress of Coin and get the go ahead.

How are you on stock of these; is there any risk of it running low / out?

    Cheers

    Setanta

    Hi Setanta.

    No problem at all.

There is plenty of stock of the 55PUS6754.
