Superb effort to keep them out there. Lyon will be kicking themselves.

    That's phenomenal defence.

Thought that side entry penalty at the maul was extremely harsh. The three guys came through the maul until they reached the ball carrier. None of them entered the maul, they were in it from the start.

    Kearney, can't pass won't pass.

Huge not to concede a score during the yellow card.

This is the best team in the Top14 right now?

    Bizarre choice.

Ringrose, VDF and Ryan excellent. McGrath and Henshaw less impressive. Henshaw butchered a try by not giving a pass to Lowe in the first 10-15mins when they cut through.

Defence is keeping us in this game, we've been fairly poor in attack but not sure if we can hold Lyon back for much longer. Need to get points on the board. Ngatai is a real danger for Lyon, Henshaw's struggling to keep up with him.

Frustrating them though. They make ground and we push them back.

McGrath has put us under a bit of pressure. Think Leinster are the better side. They need to convert more of their breaks. Kearney and Henshaw guilty of not passing when a player in the open.

That passage of play where we were attacking after 40 minutes, I felt we were hoping for a penalty rather than any real belief we'd get a try. Two years ago we'd have scored, rather than turn it over and give them a (very decent) chance to score.

Kearney hasn't been good so far, done ok in defence but apart from that poor.....

VdF, or 'Flier' as he's known on BT, has been outstanding.

Where on earth was the Leinster backfield there??

This is very similar to the Benneton game. Letting the opposition gain ground I to the 22 but putting a great try line defensive effort.

But it's hugely risky and will eventually lead to an opposition try.

    Up in the defensive line.

He’s one of the best and most unappreciated players in Ireland at the moment.

That type of niggle sustains Sexton.

McGrath won't want to remember this game.

McGrath terrible again. Killing it out there

Can't blame him for that. Maul surged forward just as we was getting the ball out and it was pulled out of his hands. Ball carrier to blame there.

It certainly isn't vintage but it's enough so far. Any win at all will do.

Mostly a defensive effort which is excellent. Lot of errors when in possession. From both teams to be fair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,353 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

As a whole Leinster have been ok. Got their tactics right. But a few terrible individuals performances are really letting the side down. Think we've butchered at least two trys.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,230 ✭✭✭A-Train

I can never figure out those maul penalties. That last maul splintered up and seemed to go down under its own momentum.

There have been at least two before then that were crooked by the normal yardstick: Caught on the outside.
