Nest not working correctly - call out charge

    Good Morning,

Last night we discovered that the upstairs heating in the house isn't working. No issue with the boiler as the heating downstairs is working fine, so I can only presume there's an issue with the Nest Thermostat that controls the upstairs temperature.

Thermostat is working as it should, but when you increase the temperate and it says it's heating, there is no call for heat to the boiler, and the boiler doesn't fire.

We've just logged a service call, and paid the call out fee, but if the issue is traced to either faulty hardware or an install issue, will we receive a refund of the call out charge?

System was only installed in April, so there shouldn't be any issues with it in less than 8 months.

    Hi R.O.R,

    Sorry to read this.

Was it Climote or Electric Ireland Home Services whom you contacted for the service call?

    Thanks,
    Una

It was Electric Ireland - as it's not a Climote (it's a Nest) there wouldn't have been much point contacting Climote for assistance.

    Hi R.O.R,

Sorry, I meant Google! I was looking after Climote queries before responding to you earlier. :)

Home Services have advised that you would be reimbursed for an issue with the device, as you are within the 12-month warranty. The installation warranty is 90 days though.

However, they said there may be other factors taken into consideration, so when the work is completed, contact them directly again with all of your details to hand on 1850 372 333 (telephone lines open until 6pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays). Or their email is homeservices@electricireland.ie and they can also be contacted through Web Chat.

    Apologies again about the error.

    Kind regards,
    Una
