How is that different to how the Catholic Church won't let you leave? At least Muslims are upfront about it.

Difference is in holy books of islam the punishment for Apostasy is Death, in the Catholic Church there is no punishment save for in the after life (Hell)

She will be out tomorrow and the Guards will be none the wiser than the were on Sunday.
And the sad part is, no one is going to recognise her with her head covered.

These further 24 hours extensions for more questioning, looks good for the public who are not happy with her return,

Meanwhile back in the station the can carry on with their family reunion.

If released it's only a matter of time before she's off to Dunnes to make use of a trolley in a whole new way.

The Irish Government is a joke, it was only last week that someone released in UK went and killed two people and injured many others.

The Irish electorate also don't consider this an election issue.

Sheep are not very bright. Ireland needs a Trump figure, we're so far left in Ireland it's laughable.

Trump has been fantastic, IS just about to be totally crushed so what does he do?
Withdraw to allow them to regroup over the coming years.

Is it true she got eddie rockets delivered on Sunday and her family were allowed to eat it with here??? Cant be true surely?

You can eat what you want as long as you pay for it yourself.

You normally don't have to pay for it when in custody. It's normal for the Garda to order fast food for anyone detained long enough.
McDonalds or Supermacs is common in many stations.
In this case they would have been limited to outlets that provide halal food.

Even at this early stage,it is apparent that Ms Smith has the measure of her interrogators.

By deciding to remain obviously a practicing Muslim, and wearing the headgear, she has firmly taken a degree of control from the State.

Pushing the Islamic prayer agenda, which again, the Irish State feels compelled to respect, provides yet another avenue of control not generally available to other customers of the Gardai.

It can also be assumed that Ms Smith will have requested female Gardai to be present during interviews, again underlining both her "Special" position and her ability to set-the-tone of her detention.

Whilst Ireland,in it's dealings with this woman, remains bound by the rules of various EU and UN conventions,it has to be recognised that Ms Smith feels bound by only one...The Quran.

Ignore this at your peril :(

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Can they not at least take out injunctions against her under emergency powers legislation, preventing her from using the internet or communicating outside the state and confining her to an address or area? She's such a zealous recidivist that she's sure to breech the terms and then could be legitimately banged up.

If she's charged bail conditions could include signing on every day at a garda station (likely), and other bail conditions have been know to restrict where one can go. Not sure about communications restrictions.

Just had a quick glance over the act so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
A chief superintendent can apply to a judge to keep her in custody for a maximum of five days. But that's it, she would have to be charged with some crime at that stage or she is free to go.

Ah you're safe enough so, seeing as the same happens here.

Be as sarcastic, dismissive and patronising as you like bubblypop, but people have very real concerns about someone with her already proven level of malevolence and determination to see real violence visited on others being given free rein to just return to a civilised society.
Tell us, as confident as you are about how benign she is, are you happy enough with LS to let her be in a caring role with either children or other vulnerable people?

The Garda can grant more than the bare minimum if they believe it may encourage someone to talk.

A lot of assumptions in this post from someone, presumably not part of the investigation team.
And then posted as if its true
