PS3 controllers wont connect to Playstation

Both of them. The lights flash on controller but nothing. Points to an issue with the PS3 itself id say but the troubleshooting guides i google assume issues with controllers. Tried the hard reset on controllers but it doesnt help. Any idea what i can do from the console end?

Did you try the hard reset while controllers were plugged in?

It's a single bluetooth and wifi module, is wifi working?

If you plug the controllers into the PS3 do they charge, hit the PS button while they're plugged in if they do.
