Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Worth every cent.

I see its for "overage" of their unlimited 1TB plan.
    This 5hit still going on?
    1TB = unlimited

Welcome to Ireland where "Unlimited" does not mean what the dictionary says, its redefined in the small print.

There are legitimate arguments for Fair Use limits (although 1TB is becoming inadequate for households with multiple users and gaming/4k video etc) but a bit of transparency would go a long way.

Instead of flying in the face of logic and the English language how about our useless regulator makes them advertise the package as "includes 1TB data allowance" or similar.

Would taking a case like this to small claims court work? It's clearly misleading at best. Fraudulent at worst.

If someone won a case then it would set a precedence. Eir would probably settle before it would get that far though.

If you're a long time customer of Eir and never re-negotiated your contract after they removed the charges over 1TB on 25.07.2018, then you will be charged.

The only way to get rid of that is to re-contract on a new contract or leave Eir.

    Same issue with Eir.

Out of contract so will look around who's the best for higher usage (Over 1tB)?

Most providers have a 1 TB fair use policy atm. That applies at least to Vodafone, Digiweb, Sky and Pure Telecom.

Only providers, that have products with no cap at the moment are Westnet, Eir (for new customers) and Airwire. I believe, Net1 also are uncapped, but not sure.

I think other posters here had their caps removed, without entering into a new contract, by getting in touch with eir support. It might be worth trying that.

Yes ... but it requires to get somebody on the phone, that has half a clue and knows how to do it.

The reports that came back was, that you had to be bumped to another package for an hour or so and then back.

Luckily I managed to do it on the Eir Boards support forum before it closed. I was moved from the 300 to 1000 plan for 1 night and next day I was back on the 300.

Under the 'myeir' I can still see what they did. They cancelled my 300 plan which shows how much I was downloading and uploading.

They added me to a Eir Fibre Extreme 500 plan temporarily, this was actually 1000. The next morning this was also marked as cancelled and I was back on 300.

Then they activated my 300 plan again except this time it doesn't show how much I download or upload. There is no more usage breakdown. This is how you know if you are on truly unlimited or not.

When I was with Eir and got the FUP removed it still showed my download and upload.
3.5 TB one month, no extra charge.
