Buying a council house

    I have been offered a 2 bedroom apartment in central Edinburgh by the council.
    A guy told me that tenants have a right to buy a council house after a certain period of time.
    Has anyone ever done this?

    This is an Irish site, primarily chatting about Republic of Ireland regulations and tenant rights.

    In order to get a more thorough answer, I would suggest you get some more detailed information local to yourself in Scotland.

    *thats not to say a poster here may not have some experience but just so you know from the start this is Ireland.
