    20 K for a 4 year old leaf with 80 K Kms that's mental lol.

2 years ago my 2015 24 Kwh was worth about 12K,. 85,000 Kms, it was almost 2 months shy of 3 years old .

Can't say I'll be investing in a Model 3 myself any time soon lol.

Tesla paid out 20k for a 161 30 KWh trade in this week to a new M3 buyer.

I'd agree its a ridiculously good trade-in price but I wonder do Tesla offer better trade-in prices for BEV's... because they're BEV's!?

Tesla ain't doing good trade in prices for BEVs anymore it seems! Out of pure interest I submitted my details when this thread came up. Tesla eventually bothered their arses replying today. For my 182 25k km Leaf 40kWh SVE (top spec) they offered me.........€19200! Less than they gave for the two year older, previous model Leaf mentioned above.

They must be trying to make back the losses on that 2016 one, that’s a really poor offer

    Wow, thats brutal.

Clearly someone made a massive massive mistake with Rafal's 161 Leaf price at €20k!!

I imagine exactly the same, Tesla only "broker" tradeins, they sell to the trade
Someone in the ttrade massively overpaid there!

Speculating here, but the trader might have had some December morning fog in his head and misread it as a '18 L40 SVE - then the trade value was about right. He's losing thousands on that car though, feel sorry for him.

Not a hope a trader actually forked out 20k for that car, a quote from a trader wont be a legally binding contract, and even if it was it would be non enforceable as the car was delivered late. Expect to see that Leaf used as a loaner by Tesla

That crossed my mind, but the relationship between Tesla and a select few traders might be a bit more formal. As in, they offer, they pay (part of some sort of contract). If I were a trader, I'd sign that contract. It is very lucrative. Imagine all those fairly rich punters buying a Tesla and willing to let their €21k (private sale) Ioniq go for just €14k? You won't get as easy a profit in the trade as that.

Not a hope of that. If someone were having their Mercedes serviced, do you think they would accept a Yaris as a loaner? And it is official Tesla policy to try and get a loaner that is better than the owners car. Like ELM327 got a nearly new Raven Model S last week when his 2016 Model S was in for maintenance.

    For sure
He told me he had a model X raven performance lined up for me but it wasnt back in time so I'd have to settle for the S !

It's pretty standard in premium marques. give you a loaner newer and better than yours to encourage upgrades! And it's already working as I'm thinking about upgrading my charging speed.

Just as well. I'd say you would have started to plan buying it the minute after you got into that X :D

    For sure.

I mean, I couldn't dream of affording it so all the plans in the world won't matter, but I would certainly start planning it anyway :D:D

I bet you thought that about a Model S too when you bought your Leaf or Ioniq, and see what you have now :)

They only have a handful of Irish customers so are going the extra mile but in the U.S they are doing anything to stop giving out loaners and are offering Uber credits instead.

    https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/new-loaner-policy.162464/

I’ve had many different males of cars ar different price points and have been given whatever the dealer had as a loaner lying around, all of which are better than Uber credits!

    Ask the salesman! ;)

You also have the likes of https://www.gocar.ie
They have some EV's. Signup with them and hire one for a day or two.

Renault we’re doing a 24/48 hr test drive of the Zoe a while back.

24 hour test drives were very much the norm 2-4 years ago (so people could get over their "angst" if an EV would be suitable at all for their day to day driving), bu I guess you just have to ring the sales manager (or better: call into the dealership in person) to ask / arrange.

Renault were doing it only a few weeks ago, just before the new model came out.

Out of curiosity I requested a trade in value for my S this morning, see how much my 10k km in 8 weeks has cost me!

So, in typical Tesla fashion, I got no reply :D:D
    Sent the details in again.
