Maybe he organised it? I don't know. What I do know is a female child has been butchered and it is sickening that the usual suspects here try to somehow use that to play the 'poor men' card and bash women again. You and others really need to take a look at yourself.

If you actually take a look at the disgusting history of FGM youll find in many countries men are completely excluded from the process and its a tradition perpetuated on the mothers side, that and clearly there is a judicial gender disparity, but sure use this as a vehicle for anti male bias

Sometimes. Oftentimes, depending on what’s being discussed or debated and the point being made.

Cartman is right on this point.

It is, but wouldn't it also be fair to say that a woman in many cultures is not deemed marriageable unless she is 'cut'? So it's societal customs of both genders are driving this barbaric practice - women from the belief that their daughter will not be offered marriage, and men for not accepting an uncut bride.

In this case there's a few months in the difference of their sentences - 3 in relation to the neglect charge and 9 less months for the FGM charge. I'm surprised that there was such a little disparity between the mother and the father's sentences given our courts.

Not welcoming barbaric practices that damage or even kill people is not hypocrisy.

What aspects of other cultures are better than those of Western European culture ?
In my opinion people just like to say they want multiculturalism here blind to the realities, in some cases even the definition of it.
Western European culture has already embraced the positive aspects of most world cultures and incorporated it within itself taking the good (freedom of religion, freedom of speech, private property etc) and rejecting the bad (this case, slavery, sharia law, human sacrifice, cannibalism, etc..)

We all welcome people from different nations and cultures to come to our countries and be a part of our culture but we don't really want multiple cultures operating simultaneously otherwise we would have separate laws, police forces and courts for each different culture, that would be true multi culturalism.

The State is asking for a re-trial. They are not clear of the charges.
