hi, i am a long time observer on this forum and i was outside my house 20 minutes ago which is in the rural west of ireland.

approx 10pm i could hear a distant rumble bass sound in the sky that lasted about 5 minutes, which i doubt was man made.
for the world it sounded like an army was approaching from the distance or a tsunami was coming
i googled it and google suggests it may be a skyquake???
any idea people?

Yeah either a skyquake or an aeroplane flying overhead. Hard to know these days. Going by your description, probably a skyquake.

Using Beaufort wind scale I've estimated at between fresh to moderate gale all day.

Even though averaging around 10-11 degrees it has felt much colder as well.

Very unusual Wind in Kildare tonight. Generally breezy but there’s about 1-2 very strong gusts every 15 mins or so.
