Anyone looking for some F1 SkysportMix Sky 145 has replays of 3 of last year's races on from 9pm tonight. Actually Spain is on at 1pm and then Monaco at 2pm but Baku has just been on. Just caught the end of it. I think of last years races that was the best of them three and Monaco the worst. It was a very boring race last year if I remember correctly.

About 40 Laps of Hamilton crying to Bono about tyres so much that even Vowles had to chime in to shut him up.

They are cut down to an hour for each race so you don't have to here all that winching. I am watching Spain on it now then Monaco and will watch Azerbaijan later today. Leaveing the best for last.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Some swarm help required, those two pictures are from a race in Zeltweg in the 60s, as there were no official numbers at this time little stuck to identify the year. I thought the number 1 driver could be Phil Hill , but the helmet I found was white this doesn't look white too me.

    Jerez 99 live on YouTube.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Cars look way faster in 4:3.

As Austria loosened the restrictions it could be a real option, but even if all goes smoothly cannot see a crowd of 80000 people coming together. Austrian chancellor announced travel won't be back to normal as long as no vaccination available. So especially no people from abroad. F1 teams could be managed by flying them into the closest airport and escorting the convoy to the track while also building accomodation closer to the track if needed

There is an airstrip right beside the A1 ring.

    97?

    That's the one!

Just saw on Wikipedia the reason they were no longer allowed host GPs, it's amazing what the consequences of spoiling a sponsor's day out can be.

That's a military one and is needed if the Russians decide to invade. Occasionally VIP planes are allowed to land but can't see the whole Circus going there. Graz is 86 km away or Klagenfurt not much more.

It's the Red Bull ring now since A1 communications went bust.
If you wanted to use its non sponsored name, it's the Osterichring.

A1 Telekom is still around, originally when it was called A1 ring the reason given was that it's easier to pronounce for foreigners, the naming sponsorship was never officially announced.
    And Österreichring please.

Brawn confirmed today that 8races are needed for the championship to be a full one. https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/11970633/f1-2020-could-start-behind-closed-doors-says-ross-brawn-on-vodcast

Haven't posted in here in a while. Hope you are all keeping well, wherever you are :)

Been getting my F1 and motorsport fix through my PS4 and my Logitech wheel. Not quite the same, but at least Hamilton isn't winning everything.

    Stay safe.

Is there a phone app for casting purposes?

Yes there is. It's available on iOS and Android here

Ah lovely, well worth a go so

I thought it wasn't available in Ireland due to Sky having the broadcast rights?
Or does that only apply to the live races?

My understanding is you can't watch the races live. And you can only watch a race on-demand 2 weeks after the race has taken place. All the archive stuff is available though.

There's a lot missing from the archive though, and no option that I can see to cast.
I found a massive torrent archive a while back (can't remember where) that had every race from 1979 to 2015 in it, I' think I'll stick with that.

I can cast with chromecast, what annoys me is the lack of a search function, maybe it is there but cant find it.
Did stumble across a good Jordan Hill conversation about their win in Belgium

So I watched Jerez 1997 yesterday. Was a reason ever given why Schumacher was so slow after his second stop??

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,441 ✭✭✭Harika

Rumoured is that if F1 doesn't get a 15 race calendar together it won't start the season as else no TV money would be received.
Austria's government gave the preliminary go ahead for the F1 race at the red bull ring, if the situation is not worsening again.

Ah, at this stage it's probably just legal brinkmanship about who's liable when they call it off. But they will call off the events for June and July. There's no doubt they'll be called off or postponed, it's just a matter of who pulls the trigger and who's liable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,441 ✭✭✭Harika

France now banned all major events up to including july. No F1 or tdf so

Just used that offer to watch f1tv free for thirty days. I mean why not it'll give me something to watch.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,541 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

The new F1 game out this year, has a Michael Schumacher pack...the Jordan is in it.

    Day (possibly year) made.

Manufacturing defect in that tyre set as far as I remember. It was common in those days, no two sets of tyres were identical even if nominally the same compound.
