Seems Leo is going to learn a leadership lesson the hard way. Several FG TDs worried about their place on the gravy train.

    reset the agenda?

    what IS the agenda?

I haven't really got the foggiest idea what it is that they stand for?

They are lucky to have a few decent national stage performers in Coveney and McEntee who add some gloss to what is very inert turd. But beyond that? A party bereft of anything new whatsoever.

Considering they are leftist loons and I'm in favour of sensible management of finances, no.

Two main parties in Ireland have overseen Ireland's debt rising from 50 billion to over 200 billion in a decade.

The current US national debt is $23 trillion and budget deficit is expected to be almost $1 trillion this year.

Murphy is a clown too beholden to a right wing, don't upset land owners whatever you do, department of housing. But he's Varadkars man so leo will back him to the hilt.

A little trivia, what connects Murphy's grandfather and Gay Byrne?

Gays dodgy accountant was his grandfather. Family of chancers.

    Simon Coveney ready to pounce!

110% this. Craftily done I might add. Kate O'Connell pulling the strings. The vultures are circling.

What right? There is no right in the RoI. Your use of the term is an insult to people who live and suffer under right wing governments.

If a party went to the people with a manifesto full of measures to reduce that deficit what would happen to them? That deficit is going to get bigger and bigger.

I get the distinct impression that FG are just sharpening their knives for the bigger fight ahead in 2020.

I found it compelling on this morning's radio news headlines that the general feedback was that Fine Gael had " lost seats " in the bi elections.

Fianna Fáil supporters must be disgusted that the national broadcaster failed to mention " Fianna Fáil gains 2 seats and momentum for the new year".

The same can be said for the Greens agus Sinn Féin.

It is all spin at the end of the day. No one even turned out to vote, they were too busy spending all their money in the shops.

I would be fuming at the PR team in FF for not gaining momentum with the press after winning 2 out of 4 seats.

Definitely time for an election. Leo should be in a boy band, he proves this time and time again along with his merry men Murphy and Paschal. All "style" and no substance with the back bone of a Jelly Fish.

Leo more interested in going to “cool” gigs and Writing cringeworthy fan letters to Kylie Minogue

He got his arse handed to him by lcd soundsystem.

You’d think he’d cop on at some stage but no...addicted to the celeb lifestyle

How realistic is the Indo's prediction of the next government being FF supported by the Greens and others?
Can FF even do those sort of numbers anymore or would they not just settle for majority partner with FG?

Varadkar is from the Tony Blair school of politics of if you win the Media, you win the people. This is all well and good in 90s but its an outdated concept. The media are distrusted and disliked.

Michael Martin is the same with this nonsense of subsidising newspapers

Independents 4 Change lost two seats to FG’s one. Just sayin!

Sitting government’s rarely do good in by elections.

You can't compare the fortunes of maybe the biggest party in the country with tiny ever changing parties.

A week is a long time in politics, let alone six months. We could be in the middle of a recession at that point. The green wave would be no more and negative equity would be the term every politicians lips. The days of FF having a majority are finished but FF + GP + Inds is still plausible.

    I can't agree.

The media is a massive form of communication. Having them on your side is invaluable. As an interest keep your eye on the UK papers next week. Watch how they steer the election.

It is not just the papers, it is radio and television as well.

That is before the social media platforms get involved....

No, that's incorrect or your definition of right is way off. Your selective quoting omitted a key word explaining what precisely I was referring to.

Well if FG were a democratic organisation he wouldn't be in the big seat now would he.

He was appointed by the elitest land lord and big business cabal to serve their interests and their interests only.

But he has cute socks so that make it OK....

Newlands Cross Upgrade? I think it finished early and below. Probably not a coincidence that it was while austerity was still a thing and there was less budget room to mickey around with public contracts.

WE heard so much commotion over the rat in the loaf of bread. Is there not a far bigger issue having a ton of human size rats convene in Leinster houses? Making decisions to benefit the few over the many ?

I will be voting FG (as I have done since 2011) as there is no other credible option.

You think Fianna Gail are the credible option... no proper housing , high rental costs throughout country as result ... loads homeless, hospital waiting lists worse than ever.... no proper development plans for country ....

Cant wait to see fg get destroyed in the general election. I wish I could also say the same for ff but alas. Any fg or ff scum who come knocking on my door in the run up to the election whenever that may be, will be told to go f themselves.

Who do you think will make up the next Government? Socialists/People Before Profit/ Independents 4 Change/RISE/Solidarity/AAA or whatever they’re calling themselves this month. Or FG or FF and A.N Other?
