I've been looking up the Nest option, hopefully it'll be released over here soon enough, I'll be picking it up with mesh system as soon as it is.

Haven't used it but good reviews, though no monitoring function in Ireland (and in the UK its around £25 per month) ...so not much different to regular alarm monitoring.

The 'Ring' home security system, has brought out a feature, where you can wire your existing system into it. It's only available in the US right now, but only a matter of time before it comes accross the water.

That's a LOT of sensors you mentioned.

Having an outdoor camera / pir sensors could elimininate the need for many of the sensors on the windows.

Current system has PIR, the Misses wants the option to walk around the house internally but not set the alarm off. So if someone tries to get in window then it will start......

If you haven't already, take a look at my first impressions of using the Ajax alarm system.

The thread Garion has linked is brill!
Id research linking an Ajax alarm to your current alarm. Outdoor PIR sensor and/or sensor triggered vid. cameras with alerts might work out cheaper than all the extra window sensors put together. Maybe a few floodlights ....some good solar LED ones on Amazon, no wires. Thats your perimeter sorted.
