:D:D You say that like it's a good thing.

I had a Mk3 Renault Laguna 2.0L diesel for a few years. I never once got a letter from Renault. I never needed to go to a dealership. Nothing went wrong in the few years that I had it. I didn't feel the need to have an extended warranty either. Now, that's the kind of reliability that people should crow about. Not how good the communication was when it went faulty.... again.

I had more trouble with my MB CLK than I've had with any other car. My A4 wasn't bad though. I've never owned a BMW. Never did like them, from a personal perspective.

and yet here you are, opining on a bmw EGR recall forum and telling us what we should think about something we’ve dealt with directly over the past few years :)

Picking one car that you never had any trouble with is no different than me telling you my Renault ownership (a ‘00 me game rxi for 7 years) was without doubt the car with the most faults. Real Renault doozies too - speedo didn’t work, boot lock would unlock, headlight stork wouldn’t work - mad stuff!).
We all get a car that gives trouble at some point in our lives. This bmw has cost me two rear tyres in 4.5years of ownership and 85,000km

As I have every right to be.

I've owned many cars over the years covering almost all of the major marques. I've never had a car recalled, never mind multiple times on the same car... for the same problem.

I have family that own BMWs. They're now saying "never again". One was a complete fanboi... not anymore. In the new year he's putting his 152 520d M sport up for sale and switching brands. He's seen the light. With this latest recall, he's worried there might be no market for it.

I drive a 3-series from new (162), and had the starter motor changed as part of a recall when I had it in for a service. It was not mandatory.
No other letters or notices about anything else.
