I'd go further and limit the max time someone can serve as a TD to say 15 years. That's the lifetime of 3 governments on average.

Being a TD shouldn't be a lifelong career choice.

You can't blame TDs for political dynasties, etc.

Blame the people for voting for them!!!

What if you like the party but such and such's daughter is the only option?

Fine Gael facing calls to abandon Catherine Noone now after she described Leo as autistic and on the spectrum.

Aside from Varadkar's feelings, or lack there of, a message should be sent that such language is not okay.

Don't think it's anywhere near as bad as saying he's not Irish enough to be Taoiseach.

Have they issued disciplinary procedures against her and dropped her off the ticket? Hadn't heard that.

Quelle surprise - Johnny Dogs is on the case of another female politician...Maria, Josepha, Verona and now Catherine - you seem to have an awful bee in your bonnet about successful females.

One has zero to do with the other.
Why do you keep dragging that in were it doesn't fit? Nobody defended the guy and he's not even in Fine Gael.
Before you kick off, saying he wasn't homophobic or racist isn't defending him, it's keeping within this dimension of reality.

Ah, knocked Johnny Flash out of the park with his Mary Lou obsession, so send in a sub? Nice.
You really need back up your assertion to have any credibility, but hey, FG, you work with what you've got.

You left out Dara Murphy, Sean Conlan and Charlie Tan-again.

All 3 of whom have funked up, I've ridiculed/condemned them, none have vaginas/are women.

Keep up Paddy and stop trying the sex card with me, it goes to show the levels your willing to stoop to to try and get a cohesive point over the line.

    What's people's thoughts on this?

    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/leo-varadkar-answers-the-most-googled-questions-about-him-1.4155092?mode=amp

His PR team are on overdrive trying to make him appeal to everyone from all walks of life, he's the baby of the house from D15, who is a meat eating doctor with a long term same sex partner.

That's basically the long and short of it.

The music in the background, the whiteness of everything is mighty strange tbh.

Catherine Noone causing uproars on the tonight show, poor Richard Bruton getting it from all angles, it seems Dick has been kept out of the loop reference his party's: own constituency voting strategy.

Interestingly FG through Coveney have admitted Brexit is not an issue on the doorsteps despite their early claim. Bad idea to focus so intently on an issue that is really a senior civil servant role.

Yeah people don't give a fiddlers about Brexit. They stopped talking about it over 6 months ago. It was a farce.
No point in FG trying to get votes for their minor role in it.

Ooooh, Richard Bruton caught by the short and curlies, and he doesn't look one bit pleased by it.

Somebody made a great point about Brexit earlier. He said with all the waffle and talk , you’d swear Ireland was the one leaving the Eu. We have **** politicians , they needn’t pretend to me , that they are amazing statesmen or capable on one subject.
