The worry for Joshua is that any time they exchanged (which wasn’t often) he got rocked.

I’d be less confident of his chances against Fury and Wilder to be honest.

    He’ll duck Fury.

HW champion of the world. And afraid to to go and give it a real go...

I don’t know. It just feels so flat!!!

    Shíte but effective, like Fury/Wlad

I see no change in how I view either of those fights.

Wilder is chinny. He knocks AJ out, or gets knocked out. Won’t go past three

Fury punches like a flyweight. He gets knocked out or it goes 12...

AJ deserved win, but Ruiz was painfully one dimensional.

I watched the DAZN stream and Joshua was getting plenty of praise from the American commentators, they were mentioning the Brits tho.

Those guys on Dazn are in the Joshua fan club.
I turned the sound off, could not listen to them constantly talking rubbish.

If Joshua fought Fury, the fight would be such an embarrassment that it would destroy Hearns ability to make anything off Joshua ever again.

He never seemed troubled at all tonight, reckon Wilder sleeps him within 5 and Fury would do to him what he just did to Ruiz.

Apparently Joshua has just beaten the reincarnation of Mike Tyson.

Joshua fought a very disciplined fight IMO.
He kept Ruiz at distance, stayed behind his jab and kept Ruiz outside the hit range.
Ruiz was totally outboxed, yes he has faster hands and a better chin but heavy feet and poor ring skills.

AJ was very reminiscent of Sugar Ray v Haggler. Controlled the ring and avoided a brawl.

    Lol ray Vs haggler hahaha

Not scoring this, but very uninspiring from AJ...

There is an overblown jellybean in front of him, and he’s running away trying to peck, poke and steal a “win.”

This heavyweight era is absolutely useless.
    Wilder will spark Joshua.
    Fury would absolutely school Ruiz.

But all of the above are nowhere near any greats.

Put Fury, Wilder, AJ or Ruiz against Foreman/Ali//Tyson/Lewis/Holyfield/Bowe and they get absolutely ruined.

Did you not see him? He had at least 4 dimensions going on.

He fought like someone who went in to bang the last time and was dropped four times.

He played to his strengths, took zero risks and possibly set up a big fight.

I'm not going to pretend to be a boxing aficionado but just because Ruiz isn't top level it doesn't mean he's there to be banged out. It was a gameplan for that opponent and it worked.

    Not entertaining but effective.

Where are people hearing this? Sky?

Surely you'd know to not pay any attention to sky?

Not sure we need another run of that fight, but I can see why they will probably try and sell it.

I agree but at least there's been some decent fights the last couple years, compared to Klitschko era

Bren, I know you weren't an LL fan but christ these guys are woeful compared to him.

Ruiz was literally a lump of moving lard.

Too many Burritos for Ruiz, he never looked like cutting off the ring tonight which was all he needed to do. Just hadn't got that extra spring in his step to catch AJ on the way out.

Ruiz doesn’t deserve a rematch, it was sheer stupidity from Joshua and his team losing the first and getting involved in scuffles when he is much bigger, with a huge reach advantage and obviously a lot fitter.

Ruiz had something to prove in this one, comes in 20 pounds overweight, and Joshua does a Mayweather style number on him.

Andy Ruiz is a fair bit more than 20 pounds overweight ;)

Hey, I think LL was a monster of a HW...

Only watched his Briggs destruction yesterday. What a performance....

This current crop are about as inspiring as a smelly stale teabag!

Fury wouldn't get ruined, especially not by Tyson. Fury a foot taller, ducking and feinting and jabbing around the ring. Mike might eventually break him down, I'd say he would win, but no way Fury gets ruined. Fury would be the most awkward opponent he had ever fought.

The heavyweight era is bad so Fury having the best boxing skills is almost by default because the rest don't have any - but I give him a chance.

Cards like that remind me why I prefer the smaller weights. Gimme a Lomachenko fight over that shít any day of the week.

In that AJ controlled the ring, controlled the distance and dictated his fight on his terms?
Yes, exactly what Sugar did v Haggler.

That said, neither AJ or Ruiz are on a skill level anywhere near Sugar or Stone hands but on a tactical level, AJ did exactly what he needed to do.

If there’s a third fight I’m not paying fir it. Ruiz is a fraud. He turned like a lorry. He had SIX MONTHS to be ready. Take a month off surely and bevthe champ but then live the life. Imagine what he weighed 6 weeks ago. If he’d been a stone lighter he may well have got to Joshua there. He just tossed away the belts total disrespect to fans. Disgrace.

Seems like they definitely gonna do the trilogy fight.

I'd prefer we moved on to Fury, as Wilder will keep ducking. It's possible Fury is ready to cash in his career but ce la vie

He got hit hard by Briggs to be fair.
Back In the day LL was known as a Boring Heavyweight but when he fought he was always up for it.
AJ is a complete pussy by comparison.

I 100% expect Wilder to spark AJif they ever fight.
