Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nah he's right, The Grinch lost to National Lampoon, it was How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the Jim Carrey one) that Nightmare Before Christmas knocked out.

    She.

I probably caused the confusion. I meant the one with Jim Carey. That movie is a classic.

No one in Ireland has ever watched A Christmas Story. I never even heard of it until I moved to the US

Still reeling from the fact Harry Potter is considered a Christmas film (although it's been years since I've seen it)

I would have thought the prisoner of Azkaban a better choice?

Nightmare Before Christmas - it won't get past the behemoth that is HA but I find it charming, inventive and a nice spin on the formula

    The Santa Clause

Fantastic lively vibe to it that adds to the Christmassy feeling.

It’s a Wonderful Life, I think in modern times the message in it is even
More important. Seriously I usually cry five times during this movie! When
He gets his little ears bashed, when he lets his brother go to college, when they give him the money!!!! Come on boardsies this is the all time ultimate Christmas movie, it even has Jimmy Stewart! Imagine Christmas without this movie, it wouldn’t be Christmas

    It's a Wonderful Life .

    Because it wouldn't be Christmas if it wasn't on tv , and it's a b/w classic .

    Better film

Okay, well this is awkward. I didn't count SGM's vote because no reason.

Mam's vote was at 7.15, and SGM's edit was at 7.15. However, executive decision, SGM should have had reason there from the start so I'm giving this to It's a Wonderful Life.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

It's a Wonderful Life through to the Quarters.

Let that be a lesson to all to include a reason with your vote!

    Round 3, Match 3

    Lethal Weapon (1987)

    v

    Die Hard (1988)

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Die Hard, it's twice the Christmas movie that Lethal Weapon is.
