Miracle on 34th Street through to the next round.

Wizard of Oz all the way. That film is 80 years old and is still streets ahead of most of today's blockbusters. It's got everything - witches, flying monkeys, a wizard (sort of).

It might be a tenuous Christmas link, but let's face it - most of us associate it with Christmas. It's not Christmas without the Wizard of Oz.

    An out & out classic.

Neither seem very christmassy to me but I'll go for Hook, just because iron-man 3 is not as good as the first two ironman movies

In fairness, both are very much set at Christmas, so take your opinion and put it in your pocket... :p

    Hook .

Because it has Robin Williams in it , that's enough for me !

Hook baits a place in the second round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,617 ✭✭✭Mehaffey1

Gotta go for Hook, very good film although again not strictly a Christmas movie but I've found the Ironman movies shocking rubbish.

    Ugh.

    Awful vs awful

Jack Frost cos the Muppets are over rated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,947 ✭✭✭✭banie01

A Muppet Xmas carol because it is quite brilliant and has Michael bloody Caine!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,696 ✭✭✭Pretzill

I turn my back for a second and rounds have passed me by :)

Muppet's. because they are puppets doing the best Christmas story ever written and it was fun. That other one, I always thought the snowman looked a bit sinister.

It Happened On 5th Avenue .

Nothing like sitting curled up , in front of a fire with a good old b/W film .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Can't believe I missed the Muppets - so glad they got through even without my vote.

It Happened on 5th Avenue, because it sounds like a lot of fun, and that other drivel looks woeful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,696 ✭✭✭Pretzill

The Holiday is certainly Christmassy and Jude Law in a jumper - wins for me :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭ArnoldJRimmer

The Holiday as its absolute nonsense. A perfectly acceptable cheesefest around Christmas

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,681 ✭✭✭✭Deja Boo

The Holiday - Jude Law is dreamy!

Its a Wonderful Life, because its hands down one of the greatest stories ever told.

It's a wonderful life, the prototypical schmaltzy heart string tugger.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

    Lol Bishops Wife
    Preachers Wife

All derivative from the original classic

    It's a Wonderful Life.

I don't particularly like it but theres no way it should be eliminated over a movie I've never even heard of

It’s a Wonderful Life and if you mofo’s vote for any other movie over it as best Christmas movie ‘I will find you!’
It’s part of our Christmas, we get nice wine and cheese, watch it, I cry! Husband laughs at me crying but secretly I know he feels it. And then I keep ringing the bell on our tree so a few extra angels get their wings.
