This video from the public service credit union explained why they put a limit on savings pretty well IMO

An excellent, informative summary, especially for those of us not in tune with "high finance"

Yeah, makes sense, at least to the banks, but €30k seems an inordinately low figure in this day and age.

If you have this problem regularly please open your PM inbox as I've sent you my bank details.

Does anyone know if it is possible to top up revolut directly from a Post Office?

Another app redesign. This must be the most redesigned app ever.

Must spend some amount of money on engineering.

    And it keeps getting worse!
It was just fine before they started meddling with it.

Trying to push monetising 'features' I suppose.

    Those pesky kids!!

I haven't updated the app in a while. I think the last time I did, it was because I was forced to.
I think I will avoid this one for as long as possible :)

Yea the latest one is pretty bad.

I hate UIs were there are horizontal scrolling sections inside horizontal scrolling sections. It's very awkward.

new design seems fine. would be good if we could hide the rewards section though

I literally just get to a level on each redesign that I can make my way around it and they like clockwork then change it, the version about a year ago was my favourite.

The writing is on the wall with revolut now, they are trying every trick they can think of now to turn us all into paid users and are gonna keep cluttering up the app with crap to serve that purpose until it's as bad as a bookie online casino app.

Even if you go to order a new card now it hides the option for plastic free one to trick you into getting a metal one.

Can't see it being free for much longer tbh.

Version 8 reminds me of the time when Bunq (who had a great app) started with their trees push and completely attempted to make banking more like a game.

Horrible app ever since, still a great bank even with the charges they introduced but the app is just horrible.

Revolut clearly needs the money from paying customer (just look at the 22€ reward for new customers) but with this new app it’s going to be hard as a non premium user to do even basic stuff.

Agreed, but at least I can find my money on bunq...

For the things I need it for, this is actually a little better for me

I realise others who use more of the features will hate it but I only use it for some internet purchases, a little vault and the (free) junior card

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,565 ✭✭✭wandererz

I find it easier to use now.

The hub is a one stop page that allows me to access my vaults, cards and also everything else that may be hidden.

The floating menu at the bottom allows to easily switch between Accounts, Payments and the Hub.

    Easy peasy.

Has anyone taken up the Energia dual energy switching offer that Revolut is offering? Trying to figure out if this is a good offer compared to others that can be found

Thats pretty much the same with all the energy companies isn't it? I'm not bothered by customer service etc just with the best deal on fuel

I'm my experience they will negotiate down to the best price again at renewal time if you have the figures for the cheapest to hand.

Seems like the benefits for switching far outweigh what is offered to existing customers

If you have the time to do it you'll benefit from switching every year.

I do not know I am not much in these offers they tend to be mostly for things I do not need or use.

I am on premium plan with revolut and so far referrals work better for me. I get 43 for new client which I usually split with them by sending them 20 as soon as I get it from revolut. So friends get free account and 20 from me on top of that.

As for the energy I do use voltage stabilizing devices I do have 2 in kitchen/living room where there is highest drain and after few months they really seems to work as my bills are getting smaller. Hard to pinpoint exact amount but hey I am using less and I don't think it is all due to properly switching off devices and boiler. I do not think I changed habit as there are 4 of us in the house and I know kids do not bother much about going around thinking of saving power :)

Not taken up the Revolut offer as I'd already switched to energia after doing a price comparison on bonkers or one of those, but going direct to energia to actually make the switch. Was painless. Went for the even billing option, and have taken advantage of some of their own offers for things like smart lights since. Will shop around again after the contract is up.

I know it's off topic but no offence but if these claim to do anything but turn off your devices when you're not using them you've been sold snake oil unfortunately.
