Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Excellent control by Racing

Best fit Irish FB at the minute. Worth a call up by AF.

That pass was telegraphed by Russell.

Isn’t he qualified for France now under the old residency rules?

Basing that off this game and taking into account he isn't making their Top 14 match squads for the new season when they have their full squad available?

    Try from Chat
    Bench straight away!
    This is great entertainment

    Agree
Very entertaining but completely lacking in any nervous intensity.

Yeah its a poor game really. Mental with all the tries and mistakes, but poor enough in terms of quality.

    Crazy game.

Is the highest points record of 64 at risk??

Eh there's just the small matter of 35 Irish caps

Who was the BT commentator who said the game was over when Exeter scored the intercept try?

He’s played in all their European games recently

It’s not even debatable - he is without doubt the best Irish FB available
    Still wouldn’t call him up

Pretty sure he meant "game over" in the context of the try being scored, not the actual game.

Have to disagree, there is an intensity and not the usual from the boot final.

    Russell throw another intercept there?

    Of course they do.

Why do you think Isa nacewa only had 1 international cap

No basing it off the fact the Ireland have a number of injuries at FB and it would be good to have an experienced international FB in the squad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭A-Train

That’s great defence from Racing and a good turnover

A much better defensive set by Racing. Exeter going from side to side

I had wondered that. But can't give the benefit of the doubt to BT's extremely myopic commentators.

No, no, according to Austin Healy it was 'a relentless drive' from Exeter.

I do hope Exeter win, but BT are making it really really difficult.

Exeter have been really poor. Racing the better team, but so horribly prone to pure foot shooting stupidity. Based on today I dont think either side deserve to be European champions. Its basically a game to decide whether Racing can do enough to cover their stupidity. I think they probably will by the 80, but that doesn't say very much given how poor Exeter have been.

Exactly. Both teams having a real go.
There has been mistakes but to say this is a poor game...I mean?? It’s a final!!
Leinster v Racing final a couple of years ago - that would be an example of a poor game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Racing went the wrong way in the ruck after that break. Scrum half passed back to the openside when their was a two on one on the blindside.

Great hit onto Russell there, didn't catch by who

Exeter are incredibly cynical, they killed the advantage earlier and that infringement there wasn’t subtle either. Owens bluffing not calling it cynical.

    Right call bringing on Beale.
Russell could swing the last 15 minutes any which way

Zebo was down with cramp at 58 minutes. Lack of rugby the last 10 months catching up with him.

Zebo off. Saving him for the Italy game - good!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Exeter are fairly poor, mostly just Racing's mistakes that they've managed to capitalise have them in the lead. They don't really look threatening at all with ball in hand, just phase after phase behind the gain line.
