Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We will never see 70 points again in January from.any team I'd imagine..23 wins from 24 games, one draw.. it's astounding.

It's Jan, we have 70pts on the table

As someone said here , enjoy every day , dont even be your nervous self.

I seen it at start of month , they could end month at 70 pts , my old negative self said , spurs, united they wont.

I'm giving up 30 years of negative thinking.

Lads , I want to say something.

" WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE LEAGUE"

beaten every team in the league now, nice...

Yup, all they have to do is just not lose now and they'll out point all the teams in the league one on one. Even Arsenal didn't manage that in their invincible season.

Imagine if someone told you that in 2010 when we had Hodgson.

    2 years ago even..

Only team in the Big 5 undefeated
    Quickest to 70 points ever.
Beaten every other side after less than 2/3 of season played - never done before.

It feels a bit surreal. I’m baffled tbh. Can’t quite believe it.

70 points 14 games to go. Draw (get 1 point) all the rest of the games and end on 84 points could win it! :D

    Any MOTD on tonight?

Every so often I think of Broughton, Purslow, Hicks, Gillet et al, and I wonder how on earth we got here

Hope Real dump City out of the CL, their heads might properly go then when the last big prize available to them is gone. The quicker we get this officially done the better.

Ali's concentration levels are mental nothing to do most games yet is able to keep up with the game and pull off cracking and worldly saves when needed.

Just had a quick look at the blue moon forum, post Semi final thread - they all seem to agree they were terrible tonight and it was a decent side sent out. Maybe they've beaten themselves as much as Liverpool have at this stage. Sure they'll knock over some hapless sides but anyone committed to a match and it's not so easy for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,912 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

From 30th of November to the 30th of January

    9 weeks , 2 continents, 17 games, 1 game every 3.5 days.

15 wins, 1 lose LC kids against Villa, 1 draw mix and match team FA Cup.

Klopp must win Manager of the Month. Again.

Would be his 5th of the season.

I for one am glad they sang their sh!t songs on the plane home from Brighton last season. Our lads haven't forgotten.

No wonder the 1st team players are getting a week's break.

Incredible run in the last 2 months.

If you won 23/24 in Fifa career mode you would be complaining the game is a bit of a joke.

It's been a very long time since I had any real doubt we'd win the league, but I figured that City would at least close the gap to 8 points or so.

The way things are going they'll be doing well to finish within 20.

City are having a pretty normal season. It's a bit below par for one of the teams you expect to challenge for a title, but only by about 6 points over a season.

And we're nearly 20 points ahead of them. In. ****ing. January.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,662 ✭✭✭Luckycharms_74

After match day 24 last season we had 61 pts and city had 56

This season has been nothing short of phenomenal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,086 ✭✭✭Nijmegen

Looking at the table like most of you. There was that whole “game in hand” thing. Now even with the rest and 19 points clear. Wow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,001 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

We could be going to city - to maybe win league - a draw there would probably do it.

I'm not even saying we need to win all games for that to happen - as City don't look like they will win every game.

    4th of April.

Villa at home the following week if we don't pull that off.

In City's record breaking year the points gap between first and second was 19 after 38 games, we've got it at 19 in January.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

Not that it really matters at all, but if I had the choice I’d rather win the league at Anfield

8 games until greatness. What a team. What a manager. YNWA

More than double the points of the team in 5th

After 24 games city had 65pts, 12pts ahead of United

You'd have to wonder how many we would have won in the past with VAR to correct all the wrong decisions.

Count down is on... Teams that cant overtake us :)

    Brighton
    Villa
    West Ham
    Bournemouth
    Watford
    Norwich

    6 down 13 to go

I'm saying 13/14 for defo cos Sterling was a mile onside when he scored in the game at the Etihad, win that, win the league. I'm ignoring any other decision that may have gone against City or for us that season:D

    Some other interesting titbits...

Game week 30 is (assuming cup matches don't interfere) against Everton on 14th March.

If City drop 6 points between now and then, and we win all our games, then that's how we win the league at Goodison.

If we want a guard of honour at Goodison, then city need to drop 9/18, which seems like a tall order, even though they're playing Leicester, Utd and Spurs away in that time.

Our next 6 are Southampton (H), Norwich (A), West Ham (H), Watford (A), Bournmouth (H) and Everton (A).

The other thing to note is that we're playing Atletico after Norwich, and Bournemouth.

You could easily (but for the fact that we've only dropped 2 points all season) see us dropping points in a couple of those, but for this team it's certainly doable.

The next set of international fixtures is the week of the 23rd March, so it'd be really nice to have everything boxed off by then, and hopefully allow us to be razor-focused on the CL afterwards.

City to lose twice before that game, Leicester to lose once, us to win every game.

Fantastic assist by Salah, the cynics here probably reckon it was a scuffed shot tho!
He was immense this evening, could have had a few more too.

VVD is taking the p1ss at this stage. He strolls around looking like he couldn't be arsed half the time.

Gomez too, doesn't get half the plaudits as Virg but is also imperious IMO.

    Southampton (H)
    Norwich (A)
    West Ham (H)
    Watford (A)
    Bournemouth (H)
    Everton (A)
    Palace(H)
    City (A)

next 8 games, with city's games in Feb i think they will win it at home to palace. (REdemption for the 3-3) and then PEP has to applaud them on to the ETihad as champions.

Palace game put back if we’re in FA Cup QF, which obviously is far from guaranteed
