Just to put some science into the original question.
One on mine was out last night. Home at 4.15am she reckons 10 drinks.
Up since 11am and has eaten this morning.
At 2pm i got the breathalyser out just to see.
She blew a .70 BAC. Legal limit is .50 BAC afaik.
Everyone pcocesses alcohol at different rates but this may give people an idea as to how long you may have to wait based on a real life example.

Interesting. Do you know what she was drinking and what time she started?

Is the legal limit not zero now since Herr Ross had his way?

Eating the morning after is largely irrelevant.

'10 drinks' doesnt mean a a thing unless you specify what they were, 10 pints, 10 shorts, 10 long necks???

Eating before sleep is more effective ?

Not really. Eating before you start drinking is important. The body can't process food and booze at the same time. Eating after a heap of drink and going to sleep actually slows down the ability to drive cause it can move the alcohol to the side whilst it deals with the food so it takes longer to process alcohol therefore BAC is higher for longer.

She left the house around 9pm, so i assume first drink at 9.30 ish.
    Drinks pink Gin usually.
Last drink would have been in nightclub so stopped drinking around 3am.
    Times are rough estimates.

he was trying to reduce it to almost nothing.

the man is an alcoholic that now has a vendetta against alcohol. he is the wrong person to be in charge of transport (or anything but specifically road and alcohol related matters). there is no f*cking doubt this cretin drank and drove for a long period of his life.
