Jesus christ. Look I know people cry about "snowflakes" and "the world going pc", but if you genuinely think it's acceptable to grab someone's balls and call it "a bit of craic" you're an absolute muppet

No need for the name calling.

Hope France win their remaining games and the tournament ends on time. Can't be having with postponements.

By ending on time you mean this season? Possible but I doubt it. Still questions being raised about the game in the Stade de France next weekend going ahead.

Be a bit of craic if someone did that to your son, daughter, sister, brother, wife, etc, would it?

None of the aforementioned play rugby.
Half of the aforementioned don’t have a penis.

What did I miss with Marler? It was on but only half watching it. Testicles were involved from what I can gather.

No, there very much is a need for you to be called out on that absolute bullshít if you're going around saying assaulting someone by grabbing their genitals is a bit of craic.

    Seriously, cop the f**k on.

    No.
What your doing is taking a trivial incident and comparing it to a hugely serious one. You are belittling actual sexual assault where people are left with huge physical and emotional scars that last a lifetime. This is nowhere near that no matter what hashtag movement you want to attatch it to.

Your pretending that there is a victim, and getting offended on behalf of the supposed victim.

Why don’t you wait and see what AWJ makes of the incident and then decide. If he has no issue with it then I have no issue with it. If he does think it warrantS further investigation then let the Authorities deal with it, but to put this in the same category as sexual assault is more than a reach and an overreaction.

Ah, so someone doesn't have genitals if they don't have a penis, and it's ok to sexually assault someone if they play rugby...got it.

Marler can now add sexual assault to his CV which already includes bigotry. What a nice fellow.

Marler should really be out for rest of season. Low end for that offence is 12 weeks and mid range is 18....

Have to laugh at the people offended by Marler. I hardly think AWJ felt like a victim or was bothered in the slightest.
It was a silly thing to do and it was funny but he will probably end up in trouble all the same.

This is extremely wrong on so many levels but to stick to the rugby pov, AWJ couldn't react in the way that most people would have because doing so would have got him sent off. Marler was looking for that reaction from him and AWJ did really well to not bite. AWJs reaction is not a barometer for how wrong Marlers actions were.

I’ll walk past you and have a fondle of your balls and see how you like it.

‘The world going snowflake’ has nothing to do with it. It’s in the laws of the game that you can’t grab them. Don’t like it? F*ck off and find another sport where ball-fondling is more your thing.

It's the same contrary people (person, primarily) who only come on here to start fights. If the consensus was that it was harmless, they'd be outraged. It's just what they are.

Marler should get 12 weeks for that.

Only saw the game. It will never happen but the TMO should be picking that up and giving a yellow card. He's looking to get AWJ to take a swing by groping his genitals. Can't think of any other sports that would tolerate it.

Edit: Just seeing the comments. Glad AWJ has highlighted it.

that is such a load of rubbish. So you would have no issue with someone walking up and doing what marler did to you then? How would you react if it happened.
Alan Wyn Jones didnt react but that isnt any reason to not do anything about this. And says a lot about you that you think its funny.
He will likely get a ban because it's an idiotic thing and horrible thing to do not any snowflake bulls...t

Can’t believe the contrarians now claim its snowflakey if you think grabbing someone’s genitals is wrong.

If it was a woman instead of Marler doing that they’d scream blue murder.

He wasn't joking. He was making a point. By making the reporter state clearly what happened, he removed the use of innuendo or any jokey tone from the conversation and made it about the facts of what happened. Was pretty clear he had deliberately considered his response, and if it didn't bother him he'd have chosen to brush it off. He wouldn't be calling for World Rugby to look at it otherwise.

    And he's a big boy?
So it's alright to sexually assault people who are big boys, cause they can handle it.

Exactly, he has more of an issue with not being able to talk to referees about incidents, about AR’s not being involved, and his piece about it not becoming a vehicle for people’s viewpoint outside of the game is interesting.

Yes it is sexual assault. If it happened away from a rugby pitch, or any sporting environment for that matter, a court prosecution would be underway. Clear enough for you?

That’s the thing, as he said in his post match interview AWJ said it’s important to remember that context that it happens in, which is important, it was a joke, a bit of craic, a stupid one that marler will regret and probably be banned for but it lacked malice, it didn’t cause injury and is a far cry from a sexual assault.

He fondled another person's genitals without consent. It's malicious by its nature, and if you don't get that, you're exactly what people mean when they talk about rape culture.

    What context, a rugby match?
So you consider taking part in a rugby match as giving consent for having your genitals fondled?

    Why not?

Because it's 2 guys that know each other well involved, 1 tried to get a reaction out of the other and maybe get him sent off. Completely non sexual in nature. Do you think Marler had sexual thoughts in mind?

The fact that you think someone has to have sexual thoughts in mind for their actions to constitute sexual assault shows an astounding level of ignorance.
