Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If England win this by less than 23 points any win in Paris will be enough, am I correct?

    Don't get your hopes up.
    Italy will collapse eventually.....

I’m not shocked that Italy are holding firm so far. Don’t get me wrong, England will win this by a canter but they will have to work a lot more than they are used to. It’s evident by the amount of scuffles and handbags so far that England are not getting it as easily as they though that they’d get it.

The hard work is being done in their domestic game by Stephen Aboud, who has worked wonders in developing their underage game. They showed a lot of promise last week, a lot more than we expected, and their footballers are playing far more natural rugby than they did even a few years ago.

Wtf, did the English player not knock that back into into goal area? So should have been Italian scrum?

We've been here with Italy many times before.. I still fancy England will get the BP.. I just hope Italy get a few more points as well.

But in answer to your question yes...or if England fail to get a BP win.

Let's not forget a close result puts France right in the picture as well.

Just reewinded it and yes an English player did knock it back into in goal area. Brutal reffing from officials and poor from Italian captain not to bring it to their attention too

When the ball is brought by the defending team into In Goal and the ball is grounded by a defending player, the game is restarted with an attacking scrum.

The England player who last touched the ball didn’t play the ball back into In Goal, or not wilfully anyway. As such the Italian kick took the ball into In Goal so a 22 is the correct call in this circumstance.

Itoje the most dislikable players in world rugby
    His shrieking alone is obnoxious
Italian offered his hand to help him off the ground and itoje just took his away. Hate to see that

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,641 ✭✭✭Dog Botherer

think that’s at least 4 dangerous tackles in 6 minutes from England

The laws outlaw shoulder tackles / challenges regardless of where the contact with the opposition player occurs. The only question is what sanctions ie. red / yellow depending on the nature of the tackle. Tackling a player in the air is not permitted.

Is that not a double movement?

Yeah, I noticed the Italian offering the help and the obnoxious behaviour from Itoje. He's a great player but seems like an arsehole.

they probably purposely made that advertizement line confusing so something like that might happen and they get extra advertisement

Looked like Itoje hit the scrum half in the head, no mitigating factor, and should the head knock not have been a penalty

ITV trying to make a big deal out of TMO usage.

The ref should use the tmo more

It’s absolutely brain dead having a fûcking advertisement painted right up ON the fûcking try line... clearly confusing the ref. You’d want to be a moron to sign that off as being ok. Valuing the wants and whims of the sponsor ahead of the sport.

If I’m the referee and on inspection of the pitch, I’d be demanding the whole thing is painted out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭TomsOnTheRoof

I hate seeing that with mauls. If a player is slipping forward and in an offside position it should be a penalty. They are interfering illegally and any subsequent mistake is being influenced by foul play.

Brain dead or genius? It's not the Italians that are suffering for it...

Yea, refs have been letting defenders swim up the sides far too much lately.

Absolutely, telling the player to get out, doesn't move then gives the scrum. I don't understand

It just really hard to understand the logic of it. If that's a player causing a knock on because they aren't rolling away it's a penalty. Bizarre.

Second try that Italy have been caught with no pillar defender.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,430 ✭✭✭KaneToad

Italy are really poor defensively. Two of the softest tries you'll ever seen given on a plate to England.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,828 ✭✭✭✭Eod100

England get the try bonus so 18 match points as expected, 15 points difference plus whatever they finish with here. Hopefully Italy take some points back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Was always likely they get a BP, hopefully they dont open up here.

No more than 7pts more please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,501 ✭✭✭swiwi_

Reckon the Italian backs could stand a bit deeper on attack...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,575 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

italy need to kick behind the english defense, chip or grubber. England just sprinting up every time

And we've reached the point of the game where Italy give up as usual.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭TomsOnTheRoof

I'd love to see that again. Def looked offside at the kick.

That there too was just a limp effort at defending your try line. The Italian team from about the 65th minute were looking tired. Set piece went to shît, lineout and scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,780 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

FT ASAP please! No more points please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,828 ✭✭✭✭Eod100

Think it would nearly be easier to get 4 tries than not have to but having to win by 10/15 points say. Would only need 7 as it stands but time yet for England to score again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,834 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Dumb turnover by the Italians, hope it doesn’t cost us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,603 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia
