Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    It would ultimately go against him if he went on the lamb now.

    There's no statute of limitations in respect of criminal offences here but there can be cases dismissed for prosecutorial delay or wrongdoing. Rare enough tbf.

    Wouldn't apply in circumstances where the accused skips the country to evade prosecution and this would inevitably mean no bail due to being a flight risk when he returns.

    Unless he was to decide to go to somewhere like Barbados where there's (afaik) no extradition treaty with Ireland, and stay there for good, then the idea is not a good one.

    Can't figure out so how he has 'two cases coming up against him soon' unless he has been told that he will be getting charged.

    Unless he's facing some really serious time he's better off to man up and face it here rather than spend years on the run.

    Aside from that, unless he completely disappears he can still be arrested abroad and be returned to face charges.

    He might not get time. This is ireland after all.

    This may apply is some US states to some offences. However, it tends to be waits of 10-20 years.
